The Cohiba should be a dead giveaway, no way that band is real... No embossing/detail, horrible alignment. If you guys would have seen them in person you would have really laughed. When I picked the bag up the bottom was full of that powder from the beetles boring away at the tobacco, lol.

I have mixed feelings.
It can be funny, interesting and educational to customers who see these at the shop.
But who puts beetle infested cigars in a shop humidor, even if bagged?

Isolate this shop from all the others and wipe down the area will a damp cloth.

It's a little walk in humidor inside of a liquor store. Actually looks like its about to go out of business. I did think about it like... what if somebody who doesn't know any better actually buys this crud??? ?

Did you get to talk with the storekeeper about these cigars, find out the story behind how they got these fakes?  And maybe even let them know they were bad cigars?

Yea he told me all about how his cousin picked them up at the factory in Cuba and how they were 100% legit, rofl... So I didn't even argue with him about that but I did tell him that they were infested with tobacco beetles and that he needs to toss them before someone buys a bag full of bugs.

Everyone always has an interesting story how they got those authentic Cubans hehe.  Good for you for telling him about the bugs.

The most important thing is the first step to check the reaction of the government authorities. Later, when everyone gets used to it, you can gradually replace it with the original Habanos

The Pyramid Cohiba???  Very unlikely even at a legit Habanos dealer.  They look awful.

It remains a violation of federal law to buy/sell Cuban cigars inside the USA.  There is also a general federal law against selling reproductions/fakes of the same product which carries the same penalties as selling the real thing.  My feeble understanding of law puts this vendor in violation for simply pricing those units?  Remove the price sticker and the cigars are open for discussion among the cigar customers.

On the same vein- a local cigar shop owner told me that he could get me Cohiba Talismans. I asked how much and what was his source. He didn’t know price but “guaranteed” that they were authentic, said he would text me a price.

About a week later he texts me that he can get them for me for $320 a box. I told him, that’s strange, that is $10 cheaper than they are in Cuba. He gives me some line about his buying power, etc. I laugh and tell him to feel free to bring them in but I’m 99% sure they will be fakes.

A couple days ago he triumphantly sends me these pics via text.

Of course there is a lot wrong with this. Also the box code was LMS MAR 17, about 6 months prior to any Talismans that I am aware of were rolled.

The real bad news is this:

His response? “Thanks for the lesson. I guess I’ll just sell them as fakes”.

Wow.
