cigarzfan Posted August 22, 2019 Posted August 22, 2019 Not political - just a fact - tourism drastically down in Cuba after U.S. Sanctions. Sad for the people of Cuba. https://www.oann.com/cuban-tourism-sinks-amid-u-s-sanctions/
Hadroxity Posted August 22, 2019 Posted August 22, 2019 The amount of people who respond to me saying I’m going to Cuba with, “but trump outlawed it” is astounding. 1

And twitter and the internet wins again. ? Don't know if it's laziness or just plain (try to be as polite as I can) ignorance that people don't understand. And the internet wins again.
La_Tigre Posted August 23, 2019 Posted August 23, 2019 Most people do not see the risk reward. There are plenty of nice beaches and lots of cheap booze huts throughout the Caribbean that do not land you on a list...

There are far better destinations in the world that are "family" friendly i.e. (Kids) to fly to. After seeing your vacation pics you are either childless or an empty nester. Many of us are not. I wouldn't even consider taking my 13 year old to Cuba. Heck, even Mexico has become a dangerous place to Americans to vacation.
Thirds Posted August 24, 2019 Posted August 24, 2019 Headed there in January. Not to come across as insensitive to the Cuban people but 90,000 less tourists every month should result in far better stock on the island for those that wish to venture there, wouldn’t you think?
Capt. Corona Posted August 24, 2019 Posted August 24, 2019 Who goes to Cuba for the beaches and booze? Many other islands to enjoy for those items...you know, like the DR! ? Cuba is probably not a place I'd take little kids (12 or under) but it would certainly be a lesson for teenagers to appreciate what they have here in the good ole US of A. ? "Clean your bedroom and do your own laundry or I'm sending you to Cuba to live!"
