I'm not sure why the Montecristo Open series is so maligned on the forum.  Granted, I only have experience with one box of Regata from 2015, but I've found them to be consistent and good.  They are certainly no worse - and sometimes better- than an average stick in the same price range...

I hope they’re not terrible ?. Got a box of regatas from 7/2018 I have yet to try.

I agree, my only experience with the open series is the box of 2015 open masters I have. They are not that bad, the way people talk about them, you would think they were unsmokable. Mine taste pretty good, although I think they are overpriced. You can definitely get more bang for your buck elsewhere.

Generally I feel most montecristos are unreliable and boring as hell. The one good one I get on occasion is barely as good as your average HdM.
