Popular Post NSXCIGAR
Given by a friend recently. Had a few in 2016 and one in 2018. Never impressed me much. Here we go... Starts out with strength. Not overpowering but the ligero is there. It's fairly sweet. Flavorful but unable to discern anything yet. End of 1st third has some faint Connie 1/A shortbread and cookie. Hard to pick out over the straight ligero. I would say this is medium full at the least. Into the second third and some Mag 46 licorice had come in in addition to the shortbread. Almost a combo of both sides of upmann. Fantastic with the strength still there. Burn isn't great and the ash is quite flaky. Lots of small wrapper touch-ups. Final third and the shortbread is gone and the licorice had gone faint. Back to the sweet ligero. Burn issues get worse. Final score: 90. Would have been a 92 with better burning. My opinion is that these will be 95-96 point cigars in 5 more years. But they need at least that much. The balance between the shortbread and licorice and strength will get there. Not sure if these will ever be 97+, and they're tough to find and not cheap and 56 RG is not for everyone, although I didn't have too much trouble, perhaps because I'm working through a box of Boli Libertadores the last 2 weeks. But I would say if you can get them around the original price, that's fine. For $25-30 each or more I'd pass. 11
