Aroma at cold:   rich nutty pipe tobacco, lovely 

Cold Draw: nutty rich oaky, pipe tobacco

1^st 3^rd Surprised by these already.  First few puffs are a but like a Punch Punch mixed with a BRC…….and that would be a great cigar.  It’s a real shame, I would buy these cigars, and I rarely feel that way about LE’s or RE’s, but the price is just stupid. My grandad used to smoke old dunhill pipe tobacco, and this reminds me so clearly of it. Rich, nutty, oaky, leather, cloves.  This is what I imagine Dunhill Cabinettas would of tasted like, when they were first rolled.  A very masculine blend to these cigars.  

2^nd 3^rd  Sadly, this doesn’t feature any of that “Wrigleys Juicyfruit” flavour that is so front and centre with Punch Punch and DCs, but as other interesting aspects are there, you don’t really miss it too much. Really pissed off that these don’t represent value for money. I think they are worth $300 a box, but, they are not $200 better than a box of BRC……no

3^rd 3^rd   Little touches of Sandlewood, and the richness keeps on truckin.  Gutted, this is delicious, and I’d love a box, but I will not bend to the value placed on these.   These will age wonderfully well. They got the legs and the richness, sweetness is there already, but more will come.  It’s funny that this cigar generated little hype, and didn’t make the flippers cream their pants, as it is the real deal, well this cigar is anyway,  I will have another, and one the basis of this sample, it is far from safe.  Pipe tobacco, rich, oaky, nutty, cloves, leather, cocoa…….great to see a unashamedly macho cigar in the offering

Conclusion  Impressed,  someone asked recently “what is available that would taste like a Dunhill Cabinetta”  now as I’ve not had one, my opinion is baseless, but if they were to open up business back in Cuba, and released this cigar, people would go bonkers.  I’m torn, it breaks all my rules, but I’m looking for a price

Score   94,  and could easily hit the 98-99 in 5-10years.  There seems to be a dearth of cigars you can age deep these days,    give these a go

Super review. I remember these being offered on 24:24 about six months ago, and not selling out. I looked at them and thought 'interesting but too expensive'... may have been a mistake.

These have gotten the worst reviews of the EL 17 bunch. I've smoked two and enjoyed them for the most part, but like the Talisman....just didn't really do it for me. Maybe they'll knock my socks off in 5 or 10 years. Or maybe not. The fun of Habanos

Great review! I smoked one last year. Interestingly, many of my friends noted the rudeness and sharpness in the oily wrapper. But I tryed a matte rough wrapper cigar and have a sea of fun. Great cigar.

I don't think it was a mistake, Unless we stop buying over priced cigars (both at RRP) and from flippers......we will forever be held captive to the nonsense. 

I purchased 2 in a sampler, and whilst not buying a box might annoy me, there are still cigars in regular production that can offer the same wow factor.   It's just a shame that this feel quite unique masculine blend, which is not easily found,......things a generally catered for the 'chocolate crowd' these days.

I'm more than up for thinking maybe I just got a good one....I'll compare with the other one I have.    Sorry no, it's was from a sampler. 

I think thats the thing with cigars that get slated when everyone wants to gauge them young.  90% of them may be crap young and crap old.  but invariably the 10% are cigars that have legs, and just need that in box maturation, and were always going to perform terribly when fresh.        I don't profess to know which end of the scale these are (in general), but that one example, was lovely.

I grabbed an HQ box last summer and the aroma was intoxicating when I opened it up. No ammonia, just pungent barnyard and strong, earthy tobacco (maybe that’s what you mean by pipe tobacco) with dark, oily wrappers similar to the Partagas ELs that have been selling on recent 24:24 listings. Immaculate looking cigars. 

Based on tons of reviews stating they were bitter and young, I sealed it with the intention of opening and sampling 5+ years down the road. I considered grabbing a second box, but like you said, the price is hard to justify for such a small cigar.

Sounds like you snagged a good box, and I think your right to age them.     When I mention Pipe Tobacco, It's a deep musky sweet almost floral, furniture polish type smell. It's something I don't see too often in cigars.  I get it most with Juan Lopez and dark Dip 2's

I seem to recall a nutty aroma. Like peanuts, but sweet. I was very pleased

Yep, looking back through FOH reviews, it's seems it's almost 80-20 in terms of negative reviews.    When I smoke the next one, I'll leave a not on this page to see if it's a stinker or not.
