Yes part two is out. Have watched it all but not avidly. Will have to rewatch it. I'm sitting on the fence. I do have to somewhat admit he does seem to be innocent. But I cannot clearly say so.

His nephew was absolutely railroaded, and that was a complete travesty. The cops were out to get him, and I fully believe they planted evidence to convict him. That being said, I’m not 100% sure he wasn’t guilty anyway.

I haven’t watched the second season yet. I hope it answers some of the lingering questions.

I agree.

What surprised me is that Averys new lawyer is looking to implicate Averys other nephew and brother in law? Perhaps it is a case of right family but wrong people!

When I first watched season 1 I was convinced it was the worst travesty ever in American courts.  Since then I've read some and the show obviously presented things how they wanted, and some things were definitely biased.

That said, I do think he's innocent.  Which is mind boggling, to be convicted not once but twice wrongly.  I agree that Brenden Dassey definitely got railroaded.  I don't think he had anything to do with anything, poor kid.

After reading up on this case from non-biased news sources who did not have an obvious agenda, yes, I think he is guilty as sin.  There was just too much evidence presented (that was deliberately not even shown in the documentary) to not believe he was guilty.

Now his nephew, that is a different story; I believe reasonable doubt exists on his case.  Steven Avery though is guilty.

What evidence presented that wasn’t in the documentary causes you to believe so strongly that he is guilty?

Can you share where/what you found. I think it's obvious Netflix is very biased. I'm still only halfway through part 2, so I'm curious to see what they are trying to do now. Some things do seem a little odd about the series of events.

He beat the Manitowoc County prosecutor on the first trial... He was likely in for a big payday. They didn't want the embarrassment.

I'm watching season 2 now and so many weird anomalies. Her ex boyfriend said she opened a claim on the headlight with the insurance prior to her death. He added that they paid her and then she kept money but didn't repair the light. Insurance company said no such claim was ever filed. Lies, especially real shitty lies, come with extra details like this one. Ex boyfriend and old roommate. Neither man was asked for an alibi? What?

The nephew thing... Hopeless! My wife says, I'd go to jail myself if they did that to my kid. Minor. No counsel. Coerced af. No parent. Kid has mental health issues, but but this is a solid confession? The Wisconsin AG is laughable with his argument... Her family can't hug her at Thanksgiving so let's keep this kid in jail to make them feel like SOME form of justice was done? Wrong kid in jail doesn't bring her back.

Bias or not by the filmmakers... This has to be the worst presentation of evidence by a prosecutor while STILL getting a conviction. Forensic scientists trying to reproduce the blood spatter that was found in the vehicle. The pit fire that could never have burned those bones. The inspected burn barrels that produced no bones but 3 days later... Bingo! Hip bones.

Like some commented above, for anyone completely convinced he did it please share with the group what you've read that gives you that impression. This stuff is a bit of a trainwreck to me. Cringe TV if you will. Especially when you think this could happen to anyone of us.

Too much fishy business for my taste. Avery trips my creep sensor, but too much doesn't add up.

The most heart breaking part was watching Brandon Dassey be coerced into a confession thrn ask if he could be excused to go back to class.

Show you what kind of a legal system we have that a coerced confession from a juvenile moron can stand up in court and on appeal ?

Something stinks in Wisconsin....and it ain’t the cheese

Thriller content is very interesting. I have always liked such shows and movies. It was last year when I got distracted because of series by Andy Yeatman on Netflix. I liked this content as well. It was entertaining and educating. I have been missing all the episodes now days.

The thing no one seems to discuss is the standard of proof in a criminal trial. It’s supposed to be beyond a reasonable doubt.

In other words ‘yeah I think he did it’ is absolutely not good enough. You have to be sure, because you are taking away a person’s liberty, in this case for life.

The nephew case is just absolutely outrageous though. I mean, it’s completely insane that he is still in jail today.

The ex boyfriend definitely killed her. I don't believe avery will ever get acquitted, however, and if he does...he'll probably just get convicted of another murder. If I were him, I would've moved across the country the first time around.
