Broke into some aging stock last night and it’s looking more and more like another 6 months before I should even think about opening the Whynter door again. So I’m curious if anyone has been running across any recent production that’s worth a toast?

I'm finding that the current production HU #2's are smoking very well after the obligatory 60-90 days rest in the humi.

I second this, and I’ll add SLR Regios to this list.

My sympathy to you if you possess a Whynter full of sticks and nothing is smoking well.

I have a very humble storage system brimming with ready to go cigars.

Perhaps you should stop by.

I second the Punch Punch as smoking well now and would add current production El Principe.

No one has said it yet but the Talisman IMO is smoking great.I'm burning one as we speak and for such a young smoke it's good.I've smoked about at least ten from different codes, not an everyday cigar but wanted to mention it on this thread.

Shorts, ConnAs, and anything PL one to mind.

Don't you think the PLPCs need 5+ years of age on them to be smokeable like a lot people (the Pres included) feel on here?

I think that most of us would agree that PLPC are outstanding when they are young. A glorious bouquet of burnt popcorn, butter and over toasted marshmellows. However, after 5 years the edginess of the burnt popcorn subsides and the toasted marshmellow turns into a full fledged milk chocolate and caramel. They're excellent at both times, it's user preference.

If referring to PLPCs from maybe ‘11 or earlier...definitely. But for recent production...like most all of the other cigars out of Cuba, they are smokable sooner and development with time is nowhere near as significant as it used to be...IMO :)

Thanks for the insight.

I seem to have lost your address. Can you text that to me?

It’ll all work out. What I pulled out is good. What’s left now needs to sit, maybe until next Spring.
