PSP/HQ batch of PLMC's. Long, slender and classy. Sloppy cap, sloppy band application. Draw is perfect.

However, somehow this box of 25 is quite the Russian roulette, some are downright magnificent, others are dog rockets that I never manage to finish. As such, I shy away from smoking them nor give them out to friends. (about 7 of 9 times that I have handed these out as gifts came back with really really bad reviews, most of them immediately upon giving out). As such, these have been stuck aging for a year in my humidor. I really really avoid touching them now, as whenever I want a cigar, I want quality time, alone or with company, and not run the risk of a cringe or embarrassing myself when my fellow BOTL's chuck them away after 10 mins of smoking.

Today's smoke had a great first puff! Stiff coffee/toffee flavours with a touch of hazelnuts! Within minutes the Cuban-esque twang kicks in and joins the foray!

Entering the second 3rd I'm noticing the flavours getting darker, perhaps toastier or roastier? I think this is kind of the the nuts and coffee getting a little bitter from over-toasting, but still amazing aroma! Some sourdough appears! Body is medium, with great mouthfulls of smoke!

Final 3rd things get a little too sour, grassiness appears, green grass and not dried hay sort of grass. Cigar is getting tannic, and bitter, this was what I was fearing! Is it the heat and humidity today? I've realized that this is no outdoor smoke, they tend to get really bad after the middle portion, perhaps my city is just too damn humid. Quick climate check, 29 Deg Celsius, 68% humidity.

Ending the cigar at the middle of the last 3rd, about just before the band point. I no longer enjoy the flavours I'm getting. Going to grab that Mars bar in the fridge to just clear off the bitterness and tannins on the palate. Smoke output was glorious the entire way. Pity...  pity....

Final smoking time: almost 1 hour (could be more if I bothered with the final 3rd)

The last 6 sticks will remain in the humidor for a long...  long long time. Until the day I feel like roulette again! (Sometimes I DO WIN!, and I'll be smiling from ear to ear!)

PS: Updating with the boxcode when I get back to my stash

I have had only good things from these, I but I know that fear. They would be my go to Daly smoke, if I had confidence in their availability and consistent quality.

How long did it take you to smoke? These and most L/S's taste much better when smoked very slowly. I try to get at least an hour, if not an hour 20 from a PLMC. My only real reservation with these is that you do get the occasional box with quite a few tent pegs. But, I got a PerfecDraw, so now its no concern at all!

I can vouch for this ^
They taste much different if you slow it down and don't burn them too quick, Takes me 1 hr to 1hr 10.

I finish the PLMC in 70-80mins. Or over an hour. I’m a slow smoker.

They better than/very different from PL Panetelas?

Different league altogher. Panetelas are inexpensive short filler cigars. These are premium.

I take my time. Never to push a long skinny. Ever. So up to an hour n a half sometimes. But normally 1:10-1:20

I enjoy the MC but don't smoke them as often as my wife does. I'm just not a fan of skinny cigars, I find I spend too much time worrying about puffing on them so they don't go out. With a larger ring, if I have to set down and go to the bathroom, I like knowing I can pick up where I left off.

I have a box of montecarlo, and a box of panatela, that are both so damn tight they’ve been relegated to the bottom of the humidor. My first box of each. Such a bummer. I keep wondering if these are supposed to be stored at like 50%RH or something. Currently at about 62.
