avaldes Posted July 11, 2018 Posted July 11, 2018 Me too. Such a bummer when you get one that is plugged.
shrink Posted July 11, 2018 Posted July 11, 2018 Still working my way through 2006 boxes. An iron fist in a velvet glove!
PapaDisco Posted July 11, 2018 Posted July 11, 2018 lovely sticks. I only have the varnished. What's the diff with the un-varnished?

Slightly different vitola (corona grande to the dalia of the varnished), and the unvarnished is long discontinued AFAIK. To my palate, at least, they are of very similar character, accounting, of course, for the inevitable differences between the pre-2000 and post-2000 strains. The pre-2000 unvarnished was one of at least my top 5 all time cigars. I've been adequately satisfied with my experience with the post-2000 stock (working my way through a box of BLP OCT 08, with an intact box of BLP NOV 08 on reserve) as a substitute for my old favorite. If I had to guess, I'd imagine that any remaining pre-2000 unvarnished stock will have lost much of it's oomph by now. Wouldn't likely be a faithful representation of their former glory. This is the same conclusion I've reached regarding my dearly beloved, dearly departed punch black Prince and ninfas. 2
