Tough hunting this year, but great scenery, fresh air, exercise and no work. On the bucket list to get up there at some point. Good luck on future outings! 7 1
Popular Post JDoughty Posted November 3 Popular Post Posted November 3 Good hunting @Dlowil! Getting out there and doing it right! I spent the weekend doing it the easy way, dumping corn and apples at my deer stands and checking trail cam pics. There's a nice 10 point buck sniffing around my feeder, so I'm setting a buddy on him this week. I like tender young meat deer, my buddy likes big antlers, we both get what we want. I've always wanted to get an elk cow or moose cow tag, but it's hard to justify the expense in time and travel for me when deer tags are generous and my deer stands are a half hour drive. 30 day dry aged young doe prime is hard to beat! I'll go for that every time as my favorite trophy. 14 1

Yes, elk and moose tags are pricey. The overall experience of a western hunt with those you love is far worth it in my opinion! Good luck on dropping the 10 point. Would love a photo once he gets him! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 4

Would love a photo once he gets him! I get big fellows running around on the regular during the rut, though they don't always stay. This pair showed up late season awhile back when my horn hunting buddies were all tagged out. I arrowed the doe first, that's good eats. Bows don't make much noise so it barely startled the buck. He circled right back and kept hanging out broadside to me. Finally decided he was at least good for plenty of grind meat for feeding folks in need for the holidays and took him too. At the end of the day, my arthritic knees and aching back definitely wished I had quit with the doe. 2

The guideline here can be gleaned from Rule 8: Rule 8 No Discussion Of Guns I love firearms but there is to be no open discussion or inflammatory imagery of firearms. Such topics have invariably led to unwanted US political discourse. Posting a stand-alone photo of a bison on the bonnet of a Dodge is inflammatory imagery. Posting a thread stating that you are going to a pro or anti-gun rally is inflammatory commentary. Showing yourself at the gun range on a “What are you up to this weekend” thread is fine. Too tough to work out? Leave it alone ? Let your benchmark always be "does this post enhance the FOH Community" and you won't go wrong. 3

Popular Post joeypots Posted November 10 Popular Post Posted November 10 I went to my nephew's wedding in Dallas over the weekend. He married a lovely Bengali woman and her family put on a wonderful event. Unbelievable, staggering, over the top? I've never seen anything like it. There were four professional photographers hired and as a gift to the couple my nephew's photographer friend came with her team. A few times I counted seven professional photographers snapping away. Over a day and a half there were three events - there were three, the Holud, the ceremony, and the reception- so I didn't take a lot of photos. Here's the happy couple and my wife and me. I measured the wedding cake with my phone. 32 inches. 16

Popular Post riderpride Posted November 11 Popular Post Posted November 11 A lot going on this week. 1) My daughter and her cousin after the Flames/Jackets game. He was injured and sat this one out, but it was great to see him afterwards. He was back in form for Vancouver and was looking forward to the rookie dinner there. 2/3) Got a new (10 yr old) dog. Lively and is getting along well with the family 4) Spent the day at the batting cages with the boy. He's finally interested in baseball!!!!! Great times! Cheers! 13
