Haven't seen much on this cigar in the forum. Today's offering got me thinking. I did score a box! What are your thoughts, opinions? Aging potential?

The one I had in Hong Kong was gross.

I had one last month.

It was peppery all the way through and I got some pretty strong ammonia near the end.  I was sorely disappointed and was glad I tried it before committing to a box.  It may get better with age but at the price, I'd rather smoke Punch Punch.

I bought another box on FOH last night. I think it’s a great smoke. Already smoked 3 from another box, which is not close to PSP.

its very young - ammonia sets in just after start of beginning of last third, - so dryboxing for a week can help mellow it out. I’m not too experienced, but I think it’s good now and will be much better later.

I had one a few weeks ago (FoH comp prize) and was impressed. It was the first Punch of any kind I'd had and I enjoyed the pepper and chocolate combo (I've got a note that just says 'spicey!'). And, I bought a box of the PSP Punch Punch last night as the price on the EL is, well, the price of an EL.

Apart from one cigar, I've had 4 or 5 in the last two months that have been great. Like others have intimated in this thread, think spiced cocoa and cedar all the way.

The one I had that was putrid was most likely caused by a combination of high outdoor humidity when smoking and charring the foot of the cigar when lighting it with a new lighter I was testing (and was unfamiliar with it's flame torch length).

Funny, I was just talking to El Pres about this cigar two days ago. What a timely thread! :D

I would personally age them for a few years. I think Punch Punch need a few years to reach their potential (based upon a dress box purchased in 2005) so I would do that here, especially with those dark oily wrappers.
