Derboesekoenig Posted June 6, 2018 Posted June 6, 2018 New RE release. Anybody try them? I've done too many blind buys buying REs, but a lot have been hits so far as i've done my research...but can't find anything about these yet. Must be too new.

I've done too many blind buys buying REs, but a lot have been hits so far as i've done my research...but can't find anything about these yet. Must be too new.Probably generic RE tobacco. With that said, a moderately priced one. Probably worth the risk. I ended up grabbing a couple boxes. A comparison to the upcoming lgc serie no 5 Italia will be interesting. Derboesekoenig Posted June 6, 2018 Author Posted June 6, 2018 I really enjoyed the '16 Paises Bajos LGC. It was either buy more of those...or try the new ones.
CooGAR Posted June 6, 2018 Posted June 6, 2018 Haven't seen these yet, but let me guess....... way too short and way too many ring gauges.
Derboesekoenig Posted June 6, 2018 Author Posted June 6, 2018 Hahaha yes sir. I believe petit robusto and 54. That's why i was asking if anyone has tried them yet lol
ChanceSchmerr Posted June 6, 2018 Posted June 6, 2018 I was in Vigo, Spain a couple of weeks ago and asked about them - they told me they would arrive in a month's time, so I missed out. Then again, if it's another uninspired Petit Robusto- I'm not too bummed for missing out!
Lotusguy Posted June 7, 2018 Posted June 7, 2018 They sold out pretty fast at the main source... gone before I even saw the FB post. This is the 4th Petit Robusto in Spain in the last few years RA Caprichos (awesome), ERDM PR (hated them), SLR Tesoro (meh), and now the LGC. I will give them a shot - hoping they are more like the Caprichos than the ERDM PR. For a recent RE, they aren’t too badly priced.

SigmundChurchill Posted June 7, 2018 Posted June 7, 2018 I ordered 1 box. If I dont like them, its not that big of a hit to the wallet, and if I do like them, I dont think it will be much of a problem getting more.
Ryan Posted June 19, 2018 Posted June 19, 2018 Does anybody have a box of these? And if so can you tell me how many boxes have been produced, from the badge on the side of the box. I've been hearing rumours of 50,000 boxes or 500,000 cigars. 500,000 for a regional would huge, way bigger than the next highest, the VR Maestros (200,000 cigars), also for Spain though those were still available for at least 5 years after launch . CubanCigarWebsite says 5,000 boxes but that would be below Habanos stated minimum of 60,000 for a regional this year. Any help? Thanks. 1

Also, from pics from various people, there have been a great deal of construction issues. 1
Derboesekoenig Posted June 19, 2018 Author Posted June 19, 2018 50,000 total for these cigars. I ordered 5 boxes. When I get them, I'll smoke one and update this thread.
havanaclub Posted June 19, 2018 Posted June 19, 2018 Gotta wonder where Charlie over at halfwheel gets his pricing. He says they are €7.50 a stick. Haven’t seen anything lower than €120 a box. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Lant63 Posted June 19, 2018 Posted June 19, 2018 Bought mine at 75€ Smoked one last night. My initial thought was, "wow, that actually tastes like a young LGC."They need some age but construction was great. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Popular Post Lotusguy Posted June 20, 2018 Popular Post Posted June 20, 2018 I bought 10 boxes. The 75 price is plus shipping which can be pricey. All but one were in the 16k range so the 50k boxes total seems correct. Guess they will be around for a while No construction issues that I found but I smoked only one so far. Didn’t taste like LGC but was decent. Edit: compared to the DR88 (aka Dog Rocket 88 aka RG88) which costs easily double, this tasted like an original Behike. 3 1 1
Derboesekoenig Posted June 20, 2018 Author Posted June 20, 2018 Thanks for your input. I'll go into it with an open mind. They were cheap enough where it won't hurt my feelings if they have to rest awhile. I'll def smoke one ROTT though and we shall see

Alexw33 Posted June 20, 2018 Posted June 20, 2018 I’ve just picked a box up and can confirm there are 50k. Not smoked one yet but mine look and feel good, fingers crossed for no construction issues.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 2

I have heard a rumour, just a rumour, that there will be no Regionals at all next year, for any region, other than maybe Cuba. That they used all the leaf for the Spanish release this year might explain it! 3
Derboesekoenig Posted June 20, 2018 Author Posted June 20, 2018 Where did you hear that? And 50k-60k is pretty normal for a regional release. Seems like most fall under this, with some releases reaching 100k.

So glad having stocked up with (most) regulars in good season....
