Hello all.  I was wondering how reliable the www.habanos.com website is for information re: all things Cuban cigar???  I know that quality control and precision are things not commonly associated with Cuba, and that the familiar refrain in Cuba when things are all fubar is "es Cuba!".  Pictured below is a screen shot from their website of a 2001 Cohiba Edición Limitada.  However, every other photo I have seen of this cigar online (including on www.cubancigarwebsite.com) is different.  I have posted a picture on the "Suspect Cigar Forum" that a friend sent me of his Cohiba LE.  When I questioned its authenticity, he was the one who directed me to the image on the Habanos sa website.  Has anyone here found other discrepancies on that website?  Thanks!

The HSA website does have some discrepancies in the list of vitolas de galera. CCW is a far more accurate source in terms of vitola information.

The 2001 Cohiba Piramides EL would have had standard band C and not standard band D that is pictured on the HSA site. This is an error probably from a cut and paste and not the actual cigar being photographed for the site. They probably took the image of the 2006 Piramides EL or the Seleccion Piramides version and pasted the 2001 EL band on it as both of those would have standard band D.

That’s where I go @ayepatz, but it’s difficult to convince the uninitiated when they look to Habanos to “set the record straight”.

Haha! True, that.

But I (and pretty much anybody on this forum) would take the impeccable research of @Trevor2118 and @ATGroom over the official site any day of the week, and twice on Sunday!

Make you wonder if HSA is behind any of the counterfeit boxes floating around. It would be a good way to discount cigars without hurting the market.

HSA  hasn't got enough cigars to sell as it is

Presumably Habanos has complete and absolute information about the current status of everything, and so all they would need to do to make CCW totally redundant is hire a teenage web dev and give him access to the numbers. This doesn't seem to be a priority for them, however.

As others have noted, picture on Habanos is clearly a mediocre Photoshop. The one on CCW is a photo of a real cigar taken by Trevor.

HSA still has outdated information a lot compared to CCW IMHO.

Has anyone ever tried contacting Habanos via their website?  I've tried on multiple occasions now and all I get is "Message failed to send. Try again later."  This over multiple attempts over a few days.  I know, I know.....Es Cuba! :)
