zyxwvu44 Posted May 26, 2018 Posted May 26, 2018 I don't think you got a lemon, just a range Rover!!!Best driving vehicles on the road but man they aren't designed right. Had one in the past, two front diffs, 3 windshields due to leaking, other random electrical problems...all within 75k miles.Once that baby was out of warranty it was time to get rid of it quick!Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk 1
WABOOM Posted May 26, 2018 Posted May 26, 2018 @Philc2001 , GM and Chrysler have also had extensive brake line corrosion problems. But don't let the facts get in the way of your opinion.

But don't let the facts get in the way of your opinion. I’m sure they have, but neither is on my buy list either. Having owned Toyotas, Cheys, Audis, Hondas, Suzukis and Hyundais, I’ve never had any that were as poorly built and so biodegradable as the Ford. My 94 MR2 Turbo still has virtually everything original, including original paint, and no rust anywhere. No comparison IMPO.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 1
retrofail Posted May 26, 2018 Posted May 26, 2018 I learned long ago talking car brands is a lot like politics or religion. Everyone has their allegiances, small sample sizes are damning, facts are irrelevant and there is no winning. It's a topic best left avoided with those you care about unless you want to show them your a** or vice versa. Cheers 4
ayepatz Posted May 26, 2018 Posted May 26, 2018 Sailing close to the wind here, folks. Please don’t make us add bad cars to the list of site taboos. ? 1 1 1

ayepatz Posted May 26, 2018 Posted May 26, 2018 Getting back on track, on a recent trip to the Nürburgring, the satnav in my Jag started getting creative, suggesting a route through Belgium which added nearly 100km to the journey, in order to save five minutes. My mate, who has a Disco 4, got the same suggestion from his satnav. “Jagnav” continued to offer bizarre route suggestions throughout the whole weekend. I think an update might be called for. ?
THEMISCHMAN Posted May 26, 2018 Posted May 26, 2018 First, this is a great thread. Second, Ford, GM, and Chrysler received assistance from the government, as well as, numerous other companies and financial institutions. It wasn’t due to mismanagement or making a crappy product (automobile industry). Had the government not stepped in to save the Big 3 the effects of the recession would have been way worse and most of the companies that supply them with parts would most likely be out of business. Anyway, this isn’t an economic or political discussion and certainly not an argument. Rob, I’m very sorry you’re having an issue with your vehicle and I hope a resolution comes quickly. I think the Range Rovers are great looking SUV’s. My last two vehicles have been Grand Cherokee Limited’s and I have been extraordinarily happy with both.

Anyone who can't discuss cars without getting their national flag underwear in a knot can move on. We don't have Lemon laws in this country. It is something being discussed but I was interested to know what the experience has been elsewhere and I appreciate those who chimed in intelligently I hope to be in my car come Monday/Tuesday next week. it is a long way from being a lemon....but we will see 1

Thinking about test driving the newer model this weekend but have heard reliability isn’t once it once was. My friend who owns an F150 just laughs at me uncontrollably. Pity I don’t like trucks. i drove a hired one around spain for a week plus and i hated it. loathed it. i'd have rather a horse and dray. 2

Owned them for 10 years. JK and JGC Overland. JK was a great design, ton of fun. Mechanically woeful. Perhaps not a daily driver. JGC was a massive step forward for Jeep. Superb diesel engine. Nice finish. Value for money. Let down by electrics and Uconnect unit. In this country, you tailor ownership length to warranty length. 1

In this country, you tailor ownership length to warranty length. My brother owned and drove a Grand Cherokee for years. To this day, he loves that car because one day he was sitting at the end of a traffic jam on a German autobahn and was rear-ended by a Merc joining the jam without bothering to brake ... and he and all his family survived without major harm. He was also the proud owner of the only bona fide lemon in the family: a TVR Chimaera. When it did work, the soundscape was abloodymazing -- like god gargling with angry bees -- and the ride was always an electrifying, seat of your pants experience even when you were only going to the shops at 20KPH. This 5-litre V8 brute with 320 lb/ft of torque (no traction control, natch) would propel him to 60MPH in a comfortable 4 seconds ... in practice, however, it would take a couple of weeks since the damn car would spend so much time in the workshop. The electrics were straight out of the worst old days of British Leyland. When you used the indicator while the windscreen wipers were on, all the fuses would blow. The doors would not open. The heater was as asthmatic as a the Marlboro Man just after finishing his Iron Man run ... and you needed it because the panel gap was so big, small birds could have flown through without touching the sides. In the end, it proved so aggravating, he swapped it for a 911.... 2
Philc2001 Posted May 27, 2018 Posted May 27, 2018 Lemon law in the state of Florida: https://www.dmv.org/fl-florida/automotive-law/lemon-law.php To qualify... The vehicle defect or condition must "substantially impair the use, value, or safety" of the vehicle. The vehicle must have undergone at least 3 attempts to repair the same issue. The vehicle must have out of service for repair of the defect for 15 days or more.
