Well I just about lost control of my bowels!!!

Then I realised it is March in the UK and I already passed this years test!

Can the mothers of the world not share a bloody day so this doesn’t happen again?!! Or would there be such a spike in flowers forcing people to send a bunch of nettles...

google wikipedia as to mothers day which details all the different countries and the reasons they hold mothers day on specific dates. there is no chance of aligning these stars.

i'm a bit curious to know how on earth you got to that conclusion.

Well...I was sitting here, my eyes cloudy from the volcanic haze....or perhaps it was just the smoke from my cigar. The wine-in-a-box was flowing just as fast as I could suck it through a straw. I skimmed through your post and saw the words “different countries”, and “mother’s day”, and “specific dates”, and hastily formulated a quadratic equation in my head that brought me to my erroneous conclusion. Upon further consideration, I now see this could never be correct, as a quick search on the ethernet tells me there are only 195 Countries in the world, eliminating the possibility that there could be a Mother’s Day somewhere in the world every day.

My mother, bless her heart, thinks I have a strange sense of humor too.

I am a mom twice and I always used to say to my mom, “Happy Day, you Mother!”

It made her laugh.

first, dear whipcrack, i look after my mother extremely well.

ayep, the thing he really hates is when mods delete his posts and "rewrite" them (yes, i was surprised to discover we could do that). and he very rarely re-reads them so they usually get seen by everyone else but him.

not that i would ever do that.

My Mom born 1917. She was a Pennsylvania coal miner's daughter. They had to hunt to eat. RIP Mom. She was beautiful and brilliant.

Great picture. My paternal grandmother was the daughter of a coal miner in Tamaqua, Pennsylvania. She was 100% Irish and literally as tough as nails. She started “sipping” beer at age 12 but was never a big drinker. My Dad always tells me he never once saw her cry, not even at her husbands funeral. My paternal grandfather (her husband), a third generation coal miner as well whom I never had a chance to meet, was of German descent yet spoke with an Irish accent as he grew up surrounded by Irish coal miners...the closest he ever got to Ireland was when they later moved to New Jersey. Always been fascinating stuff to me.

Thanks for sharing and happy mothers day to your Mom.
