cmbarton Posted June 29, 2018 Posted June 29, 2018 How did this conversation go on for so long and no one said Dip 2? To this day whenever I light up a Dip 2, memories of the island all comes back to me. I love that cigar so much ... I don’t have enough of them. 1
cfc1016 Posted June 29, 2018 Posted June 29, 2018 Just digging into my first box of 2016 partagas PCEs, thanks to inspiration from @awkwardPause . Jooooooyest of joys. Time machine. One of the attributes of the old strains i miss most is this ‘nutty on the front, spicy on the back’ flavor profile, within a single draw of the cigar. I’ve had trouble finding this quality again in modern production cigars. Much to my elation, there it was last night. I enjoyed a more or less ROTT PCE (only a couple days rest) last night and it was just fabulous. Can you tell from Caity’s expression, how much I was rambling on about just how good it was? ? 2
RijkdeGooier Posted June 29, 2018 Posted June 29, 2018 From a technical viewpoint I’ve always been told that the quintessential Cuban marca by which all others are judged is Montecristo. The classical line is la marca de referencia a yardstick for Cuban cigars. All others are variations on a theme. From a personal viewpoint this varies of course across those that smoke cigars.
cigcars Posted June 29, 2018 Posted June 29, 2018 * IMHO the discontinued Romeo y Julieta Celestiales Finos
