I’m curious. I have heard you speak of their wages as low. Is it, however, a relatively good wage? They seem happy. Also thank you. Enlightening photos and good ones.

On the one hand, I'm struck by the glaring lack of modernity in the workplace; on the other hand, every time I see photos of Cuba, I soooooo want to go!

Great pics!

I’m so fascinated by every photo.  I hope I can go someday!  Incredible people and culture.  Look at the fingernails on Milagros....

My understanding and others can correct me if I am wrong, is that average Cuban worker makes roughly $25/month and have bills of about $200/month.....thus why you see doctors drive cabs on the side, bartenders being creative with the cash register, etc....they do it to pay their bills not to buy luxurious items.....just from my experience there

** I may have stated this before on this thread and if I have then sorry about the repetition. But I still find it such a humorous delight to relive the words of the late Zino Davidoff when he recounted the legends that spread about one of the reasons Cuban cigars were so magically wonderful: the tobaccos were said to be rolled on the naked brown thighs of young pretty virgins in the cigar factories there. And he said that as a young boy living in Cuba and having heard these legends he snuck away to the cigar factories there, found and stood on boxes to peer in the windows so he could spy these young pretty virgins rolling cigar tobacco on their naked thighs! He recounted as he peered inside the factory window: "...and all I saw were big, sweaty, ugly men feverishly rolling those cigars at the tables," etc.!  :P

I think it would be a very cool gesture and boost of self esteem if the photographer printed these pics and was able to get a copy to all of the hard workers on this post, I think they would really like that
