For a cigar I knew to be monumental, an all-time classic, I'd probably pay up to $100 for it, and it would be a one-time thing. Needless to say, I wouldn't be spending $100 on very many cigars--certainly not for anything made in the last 20 years. Cohiba 1966 or GR be damned.

Considering that I frequently have world-class cigars in the price range of $4-10, I'd say I feel silly paying much more. Maybe a fiver of an RE I really want to try.. and then I feel foolish spending beyond $20.

I’d pay $100 to have one of JFK’s H. Upmann’s that he had his Chief of Staff buy up from all the cigar shops in Virginia and Maryland the night before he signed the Cuba Embargo.  That’s probably the limit to what I’d spend on a single cigar.

Depends on any associated guarantee. If the guarantee was the cigar would be the absolute best of my life, a considerable amount. Amount I would spend would decline with declining assurances of the smoke.
