Popular Post BellevilleMXZ Posted December 11, 2017 Popular Post Posted December 11, 2017 I'm sure there are quite a few of us stuck smoking in the cold now that winter is here. I have a detached garage with a 220v little construction heater. It takes the chill out decently, but the floor is always cold, so its never really comfortable, esp.when sitting for awhile. I always found my legs and feet cold. I saw a pic of someone in the daily cigar, with one of these heaters, so I thought Id give it a try. It makes a HUGE difference , much more comfortable, not cold at all now. If your stuck somewhere cold, try one of these, you wont regret it. Sits 3 or 4 feet in front of me, and makes all the difference. 6
SCgarman Posted December 11, 2017 Posted December 11, 2017 Already have the same thing! Use it in my garage also. Give it a few minutes to warm up, grab a cigar, drink, put on some heavy metal rock n roll on the Bluetooth boombox and sit back in my directors chair for an hour of me time! For those who may want one, Costco sells these on a regular basis. 3

Buck14 Posted December 11, 2017 Posted December 11, 2017 Do these things work well outside in the the cold? Seems like most of you have them in a garage or else a partial enclosure. I’d have to put it outside on my condo deck...would this work ok you think? 1
Westside Threat Posted December 11, 2017 Posted December 11, 2017 Too funny. Just bought one of these from Costco over the weekend to use on my patio. Granted, its supposed to be in the 70-80's for the next two weeks so it may sit in the box for a while. Glad to hear people like them.

I do this on my patio during the fall if needed, but then take it to the garage with the door open for the winter. Should still keep you fairly warm outdoors on your patio if there isn't crazy cool wind up to about -1C. I find below -5C I like to be in the garage. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
CrankYanker Posted December 11, 2017 Posted December 11, 2017 I see there are a couple of options on Amazon. What size of diameter heaters are people running? 9" option https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000GG8DTS/ref=asc_df_B000GG8DTS5298712/?tag=hyprod-20&creative=394997&creativeASIN=B000GG8DTS&linkCode=df0&hvadid=167116234959&hvpos=1o1&hvnetw=g&hvrand=17499763197768609185&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9016288&hvtargid=pla-273265664779 18" option https://www.amazon.com/Presto-Parabolic-Electric-Heater-Concentrated/dp/B01M8NLKT1

You'll need to be extremely close to it outside to get the heat effect.
HarveyBoulevard Posted December 11, 2017 Posted December 11, 2017 For more exposed areas, I have found these to work better. But indoors, the above is the best I have found. https://www.northerntool.com/shop/tools/product_200178724_200178724?cm_mmc=Google-pla&utm_source=Google_PLA&utm_medium=Heaters, Stoves %2B Fireplaces > Propane Heaters&utm_campaign=Mr. Heater&utm_content=174338&gclid=EAIaIQobChMImZSHuIKD2AIVCtVkCh0eIgVmEAQYDSABEgIwgfD_BwE

I have to put it pretty close to me to stay warm but I also have a pretty large barn. I really need to get the wood burner chimney installed...

Lost the remote, still works fine with buttons on unit. Bought at Costco.

Outdoors you will need something much more powerful.

I would think so, probably just have to keep it a little closer to you.
BrightonCorgi Posted December 12, 2017 Posted December 12, 2017 When I saw the title "Best addition to the smoking garage yet....." I was hoping to see a Rolls Royce. 2

papatrips Posted December 18, 2017 Posted December 18, 2017 I found that putting kids foam locking floor squares (the multi-colour ones)down help remove the cold garage floor. I purchased a portable pop up ice fishing shelter and put it up in my garage when I want to have a cigar in the Canadian winter. My friends and neighbours laugh at me. They ask me if I caught anything yet.....but I don't care I am warm! I can get it up to 68-70 in it. With the radiant heat, it heats the fabric inside and those mats help a lot. I have also made a makeshift shelter using my kids hockey net and put tarps over it and sat inside. Hell he can even shoot while I am in it because he can't hit the net. (I kid) I use either a little buddy propane heater or a infrared little furnace I got at factory direct for 60 bucks for heat source. I am selling my ice fishing hut and I am now using one of those beach umbrella/shelters you can lay on its side. My next step will be to attach a SOL Emergency Shelter blanket with the reflective material to the inside. Should work just as well. 1
fastkiller13 Posted December 18, 2017 Posted December 18, 2017 I recommend one of these. It's my winter smoking best friend. Was so hot tonight I had to back up a few feet. 2
