I was on qantas yesterday and I was watching this bloke in front of me playing this killer air hockey game on his iphone.

Now not that I have that much spare time but it did get me to thinking.

What are the killer game apps that you are currently playing on your cell/mobile phone.  If you are not playing them...what have you seen.

What are those games that are guaranteed to whittle away precious hours and have you banging your head 4 hours later mumbling "why...why...why!"

Angry Birds worked for a long time....

switched to Run Stick, Run for a while as well as   Doodle Jump.

Great time wasters.   Of course, lately I've had no time to waste so those apps have gone unused....

Whenever I'm stuck waiting, I play Sudoku or Word Target on my phone. In the past have played Mechwar, Galaga, Target Archery, Nun Attack, Tank Hero, Bunny Shooter...

Jelly Splash is a good puzzle app and while it does contain micro transactions I've never thought I needed to spend a cent in the game in order to get the full enjoyment out of it

I also play Marvel Contest of Champions a lot
Another game that is free to play and can be a lot of fun, but the progression curve within the game can be quite steep if your not prepared to drop a couple of bucks on it every once in a while
I know a number of people who have managed to master most of the game content without spending any money but they also devoted ALOT of time to the game to do so

Both games are worth checking out IMO

Galcon 2: Galactic Conquest

I only play Galcon or Chess by Optime.

Galcon is the chess of the future, it is more maths based strategy though.

You will love Galcon.

Zombie Gunship Survival and recently Plague Inc.. Sort of a strategy game how to wipe out the planet with various plagues, germs, virus spread through different vectors before the world finds a cure.  Makes for some great conversations and odd looks during those long flights.

Doodle Jump still keeps me amused. Currently a pirate (first mate).

Used to be Clash of Clans, now I prefer Clash Royale. Less time/effort overall.

Dumb Ways To Die for funny/stupid

Color Switch for mind numbing/infuriating

Chess Tactics Pro keeps me occupied when I'm on the train.

Another here for Clash of Clans.  I'm 2 1/2 years into it and sitting at max town hall 10 and about to turn it up to 11!  The builder base has been a pleasant new addition.

Nice. I'm on 10 also, but am finishing walls and troops before defences. Keep that war-weight down. What's your handle, it'd be cool to check out your base? Mine is Fat Man. Clan: I love cholent

I got half my walls to 11 and have pretty much finished all my research with a few minor exceptions.  I would love to get my AQ and BK to higher levels but it time to make the move.

Handle is Big G (#290RUU98U) and clan is Winner Pegs

Numerous Angry Birds, Spades, Temple Run, and F-Sim Shuttle.  The shuttle apps is fun.  Can fly just a final approach or the whole thing around the HAC with different wx conditions, day or night.

No apps for me.  I'm very good at wasting time without the assistance of a smartphone or the video game apps that run on a smartphone.  My phone is just a phone.  I don't even have text messaging.

Pinball Arcade. Faithful recreations of classic pinball games (physics, sounds, graphics, etc...). This is an awesome way to play the pinball games you remember, without having to deal with owning one (I'd still love to, but don't have the space or funds). The iPad is perfect for this one, as a phone would be too small.

I have a psychrometric calculator for my phone, does that count? I can tell how much water is suspended in space with a few button pushes... -LOL

On the flip side, just trying to get my phone to work is somewhat of a game! It is fun to estimate how long a call will last, or how many words out of 10 I will understand, or if my voice mail will actually make it to the phone. Why play an app when the truth is funner than fiction???
