I am interested in these monarchs you are talking about. I did some searching online but there isn't much on them. Did they come in tubes within a box or is that a fake pic of them?

Sorry, I should have posted the pic. When I was searching I found this on Google but wasn't sure if it was the same cigar you were referring to.

no. not unless there was another release which i'll confess i have never heard of. they are actually rather unprepossessing to look at.

they were made for a private client (obviously david tang from the name) and were brilliant. there was a small surplus that made it into the market and thanks to rob, i managed to get one. wish i got a lot more.

we have talked about these and i like them - have one every year or so. the problem is time. also they are something that very few people seem to smoke. but i'm happy if rob is.

Have you guys thought about doing some videos that don't just include cigar reviews?

I feel like the forum is so rich with topics that the collective we care about and are interested in that have to do with the general hobby as such.

Seems like a great opportunity for you guys to create some original content around a discussion that focuses on one or a few of these issues. Obviously a cigar or two would need to be smoked during this discussion.

I think this is a great way to expand the knowledge and impact of FOH.

rob and i do have a ritual. we intersperse all the stages of the cigar with the weekly review a to the world of rugby, the broncos/origin, man c/gunners, bucs/skins. and anything else of importance. though quite why anyone else would want to suffer that would be beyond me.

as for collections, never been keen on displaying those sort of things. we try and include wine/spirits, though when rob goes on his self-imposed moderation sojourns, it is a bit difficult. and in the old (older?) (pre D) days, i could expect to have at least two empties, sometimes more, the next day. and i would never have more than a glass or two. ah, those were the days.

How's about a re-vist of the Partagas Serie E No 2?

A few random thoughts:

- more vids period! Love em

- more throwback reviews of old and / rare sticks

- vertical reviews (ie same stick, different years)

- more uncle festa 

- tasting on 2 x sticks with wrappers swapped (ala the famous thread of such a test here a few years back). Blow our collective minds

- directors commentary track on vids by Smithy+Greg (after a few tequila shots each)
