Balvenie 14 Year Old Caribbean Cask Future Availbility?

With the availability of age statement whisky on the decline and the rise of NAS variants in their place I was wondering if I should be concerned about the future availability of Balvenie Caribbean Cask?

Its labelled as a 14yo single malt and that sort of thing seems to be going away of late.

Its my missus favourite whisky and I'm partial to it as well (not a big whisky guy, but I am a rum guy so this stuff bridges the gap quite well) so if its on borrowed time in its current guise I'll pick up a few bottles to stash away for a rainy day

I'm sure if it were to become thin on the ground some NAS equivalent would replace it, but why chance that if you don't have to

Its one of the few decent whiskys I'm able to purchase locally

And you know if you stock up it will never be a losing proposition.

Its more about do I buy 5 bottles of various stuff I've been meaning to try or put that on the back burner and grab 5 bottles of BCC instead

Fwiw, it has been sold out here for months and months with no sign of it coming back...could just be our shitty state run liquor simply choosing not to buy it though...

Plenty for sale round here still. Will ask a couple of mates who work at the distillery/for WG what the state of play is with this. Wouldn't surprise me if there is a dwindling felt now as it was quite limited on release if I remember rightly.

US Costco maybe but not Canadian Costco.  Got nothing to do with Costco but taxes. Fortunately plenty still available in Alberta, Canada.

No Costco in Australia (I think?) and definatly no Costco in Northern Australia where I'm based

RRP on B14CC is around $99-$120 a bottle

It's $AU120 to $AU125 across various on-line Australian Retailers currently.

We've got several stores carrying it in the Houston, TX area. They're selling them at Specs for about 73USD per bottle and about 398USD for a case of 6 on specsonline.com.  I'm not sure if you're able to purchase from that site and ship to where you're located, but I'd be happy to pick you up a bottle or two and ship them over to you given you cover the shipping if you can't. 

I personally haven't tried it myself but you just added it to my wishlist to try.

Just grabbed one myself from 1 of my local dan Murphy's - Eastwood nsw Australia ... had at least another 4/5 in the cabinet

Just picked one up at Meijer for $65 the other day on sale.

I just grabbed one of these a couple of weeks ago purely based on this post.  Wow. Amazing flavors.  Just became one of my go to whiskies and the price/value isn't bad.

I heard that they use mainly Cuban rum casks...they call it Carribean Cask so they can sell it in the US without any issues.

Very interesting.  Makes sense. Are there other scotch whiskies with rum barrel finishes?  I think Edradour has one but not sure about any others.
