PigFish Posted December 4, 2016 Posted December 4, 2016 I have smoked cigars while riding a chairlift in the Wasatch range and on a floatie in the Colorado river. I will leave it to another to figure the temp ranges. But if I can change out a water pickup pump in my boat at 125F, I'll be damned if I cannot smoke while doing it!!! -the Pig 1
Jimmy_jack Posted December 4, 2016 Posted December 4, 2016 Smoked a HDM Petit Robusto during hurricane Matthew. Not sure of the winds but they were strong. Didn't work out too well.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
cpmurrin Posted December 4, 2016 Posted December 4, 2016 About -17f on the porch of the rental after a day skiing at Grand Targhee in Wyoming. We ski and I smoke so its not that uncommon for me to be outdoors in the cold. Some cigars certainly take the cold better than others. Party shorts are a standout in cold conditions.

To expand on that range I went to the local DIY store and bought a propane heater. It's an even colder day today, not sure how much help it will be but willing to give it a try. My wife is from Wisconsin, but eventually Sydney 'winters' became cold enough for her that we bought a patio heater. Bit of ghetto use of a tarp and bam, outdoor smoking lounge! Just wish I knew how to clean the metal reflector so it distributes heat better.
treberty Posted December 4, 2016 Posted December 4, 2016 I would say around -20C something, in my shed... Wearing my snow pants and a good winter coat. The Ardbeg gets foggy very quickly at below -20C!
Fosgate Posted December 5, 2016 Posted December 5, 2016 Around Christmas 2013 I believe. I don't know what the temp was before with but with windchill was -65F (-53C) when the craving hit. Came back from eating out and decided to smoke a corona in the garage before we went in. I think we each smoked maybe 1/4 of it and put them out and went inside where it was warm. At least it was a dry cold.
Mattb82 Posted December 5, 2016 Posted December 5, 2016 I'm out again tonight, 40 F so not that bad but I have the heavy north face and boots on. Petit edmundo tonight for a quick smoke 1

Ethernut Posted December 5, 2016 Posted December 5, 2016 I only smoke outside at my house and only have the desire to smoke when it's nice outside. I'm not one for smoking when it's hot or when it's cold. Here in the midwest U.S. our temps range from -10F to ~102F. My personal ideal "nice" range is in the, roughly, 60-85F range. Outside that range, I'm more inclined to do something else with my time. This limits my smoking quite a bit and that's OK with me. I never much want to form a habit of smoking. I also, typically smoke when someone else is present to converse with. I dont do much smoking alone, while I do on occasion, I much prefer great conversation with the slow rhythm of a fine Cigar. 2
GrouchoMarx Posted December 5, 2016 Posted December 5, 2016 My home is conveniently heated and air conditioned, and my office is a smoking zone. Too hot? Too cold? No problem.
