Morgan Posted November 30, 2016 Posted November 30, 2016 About a year ago I posted the topic "Where have all the Sir Winston's gone?" and there still gone It's so difficult to get a good box of these Why there is literally nothing not even drips? Anyone have any insight or any relief on the horizon?
MooseAMuffin Posted November 30, 2016 Posted November 30, 2016 There were some posted on the free for all sale a while back that looked amazing. They were aged though and I haven't seen or heard anything on new stock. My tinfoil hat theory is that someone much smarter than me on this forum is hoarding all the stock. They are reading this post, smoking a Sir Winnie right this very instance...while laughing in some sort of maniacal manner. 1
Puros Y Vino Posted November 30, 2016 Posted November 30, 2016 From what I hear. Sir Winnies, don't always get rolled unless the "right tobacco" is available. Couple that with Cuba's two years of crop problems and you have a product drought. There are a lot of cigars that disappeared as a result of the low quality tobacco yields.

That makes a lot of sense but what gets me is, there's been nothing at all available over two years literally nothing and over that same period we've had some availability of other prominent cigars as Cohiba's complete line top to bottom has had some availability (though limited) but nothing on Sir Winnies. Maybe someone knows if any are on the horizon Rob?

Much better for instance than with the HdD, HdG or MdO No.2 1

No word of anything on the horizon. I ask every month 5
PapaDisco Posted November 30, 2016 Posted November 30, 2016 Last box I got from El Pres was January of 2015 (produced in June of 2014). Lovely cigars but can't stand to fly for some reason (travel shock sensitive).

Ralphanator Posted December 1, 2016 Posted December 1, 2016 I saw them maybe 8 months to a year ago on the internet they were gone the next day! I don't know if its true or not but i read somewhere that they are rolled every other year!
PuffDaddie Posted December 1, 2016 Posted December 1, 2016 Have a box code MER-4/013 only ten left. Can't wait to order more from El Pres when they come available.

Right before we nearly missed our flight to Panama.

Not only that but, as I understand after discussions with vendors in Europe, they (HSA/CUBATABACO) don't roll it until they have at least a consequent order from one or several distributors; the Sir Winston is a slow seller, its price is high everywhere in Europe… 1

Damn, and I KNEW i shoulda looked in that Walk-in at the airport a little more closely!!!! I was too busy whinging about being ripped off for 2 CUC on my worthless Wifi card LOL
Fuzz Posted December 1, 2016 Posted December 1, 2016 We were waiting so long for our espressos, we never noticed that there was no plane at our gate (gate 11). For some reason, the 6:40am plane to Panama (gate 10)was the exact same plane used for the 7:50am flight. People were sitting onboard for over an hour waiting for Rob and I to board.

We did mate. i still haven't worked out how they could have two flights an hour apart that was the same plane. We dodged a bullet on that one
zeedubbya Posted December 1, 2016 Posted December 1, 2016 To answer this Aged (2009) were posted 7/28/15 and 9/20/15. Single box of 2015s were posted on 3/1/16. Per spreadsheet another member here keeps. There were some singles available in the carts early this year. And just for reference there were SLRDCs there as well early this year as well. I have boxes (well now partials) from Mar14 and Dic14 and they are just awesome (pic below). I agree with @PapaDisco in that they really suffer badly from travel sickness. Fingers crossed they come out in a larger supply in 2017. I've seen a couple rumors on here and elsewhere about a SW GR for 2017--might be a minor contributing factor to shortage. 1

There was a beautiful box of aged Winnies during the sale. Can someone help me with the real name? For some reason I keep thinking it had something to do with rolling thunder lol

Yes, cigar aficionados know it as "Live From the Warehouse." IT professionals and network managers know it as, "The Thing That Crashed The Web." 1
Bohn007 Posted December 3, 2016 Posted December 3, 2016 While I love the Upmann marca, I just never usually have the time to smoke such a long smoke. the Upmann Magnum 46 works just perfect for me.

Its the combination of factors
