As it's getting cold here in the northeast, I'm afraid that I'm relegated to only having around 10 min outside for a smoke. My friend shared a tin of Cohiba Mini's with me the other night and they were surprisingly great for a super short smoke.

Curious what do you all like?

Define super short....   Minutos or smaller...?

I've been of the mind that a Petite Corona was a small smoke, but that thinking has been changing.  I pulled a three year old MC5 out last night because I had a "minute" and worked it for 45 minutes.  And I still think that one is a small cigar....

Sorry, I mean like a cigarillo. The ones that come in a tin

No, you were correct using the term mini. Those cigars are categorized as minis, clubs and puritos, generally under the heading of cigarillos. Minutos, Perlas and Small Panetelas, among others, fall into the "small cigar" category.

As for my preference, Partagas Chicos hands down. Haven't tried the new Partagas Puritos line so I don't know if it's similar.

Entreacto vitola:

ERDM demi tasse, RyJ Petit Julieta.

(btw I was lucky to be offered a few Bolivar demi tasse that were fantastic, extremely complex)

I like Monte Minis in the tins (red) for 5-10 minute smokes. Partagas Chicos and Monte Puritos for 15-20 mins and Por Larranaga Panetelas and Rafael Gonzalez Panetelas Extras for around 30-50 mins. All depends how long I have or how long I'm willing to stand in the cold!

Mhmm - let me think ;)

Cohiba Shorts!!

I've liked the few Cohiba Exquisitos I've had (33 rg x 126 mm) but you've made me want these tasty Panatelas even more! (26 rg x 115 mm). Are they a 20 to 30 minute smoke for you?

I was referring to the Cohiba Shorts cigarillo that I've been raving about to anyone that would listen (and many that would not lol). Those take me almost 15 minutes.

If you mean the Cohiba Panetelas, those are a 30 minute stick for me.

I was wondering about the Cohiba Shorts as I just saw them for the first time from some central European vendors last month. Looks like ICT is really expanding the Cigarillo selection among the global brands lately. The new Partagas Puritos are also harder to find and seem to be circulating primarily in central Europe.

The Cohiba Exquisitos and Panetelas fall under the "small cigar" category, although I can usually make a cigarillo last for 20-30 minutes if smoked slowly (properly). I too used to smoke quite a few Exquisitos around the years 07-08 as they were really pumping out quality Cohiba (and many more) around then. That's back when they could be had for around $160/box. Now, I don't think they're such a great value.

I was one of the ones who listened and agree wholeheartedly on the Cohiba Shorts.  Never had a Puritos, Chicos, or Cigarillo come even remotely close to the same taste and experience as these.  Truly awesome.

I have found a few of them tar up on the end a little bit about halfway down and get bitter--if you just wipe it off it's back off to awesome flavors again.  I don't recall doing this with other cigarillos in the past.  Get some of these--I am on exact same page as @Lotusguy.

I'd appreciate a heads up (obviously by PM) on a source. Searching high and low has been for naught. Obviously if our host stocked them I wouldn't even ask

I've still only seen them in Germany.

Partagas chicos fan here, while I don't have any of them currently. Typically I will buy them on some type of sale where you get 4 or 5 boxes.

@Smallclub mentioned Bolivar demi tasse. I cannot tell those who have not had these what a delight they were. The really blew the socks off the ERdM.

A vendor once had these on sale and I offered to buy 1000 of them for $1.00 each, just bulk packaged where he could strip the box and bands and I would pay the duties. I thought I had them but he changed his mind! He said yes, then emailed me later and told me that he did not have them... Too damn bad... I would still be smoking them today if he had taken me up on the offer. That is how much I liked them. They were one of my favorite cigars.

Cheers! -Piggy

I've asked our host about them and he said to get back with him sometime end of this week so might be a likely thing here @Hutch

ERDM Demi Tasse, but have enjoyed many a Monte Joyita and Cohiba Club. Weirdly, the DT age into an even better cigar. I'd never have thought so, but not long ago found a forgotten box that was almost 15 years old. Quite the refined little stick...had gotten sweeter with age. Finished the box in about 3 weeks...and I didn't share

I totally agree. An aged ERDM Demi Tasse gives you all the flavors of any great old Habano. These are the perfect example of how a small vitola can pack HUGE flavors inside of a small smoke.
