At least the packaging is a little more special.

If it's not a jawbreaker, could be interesting... I usually enjoy SLR.

from memory it should be a Geniales Vitola

Well, that wish seems to remain unheard....

Price is 117 CUC for a box of 10.

Personally I didn't like the ones I had, quite tasteless and a pronounced lack of strenght. That opinion was shared by others as well, while Cuban friends agreed and mentioned that later boxes might have a better (stronger) blend ...

I was not impressed and I am a huge SLR fan.

Smoked my first Marquez today. Very good cigar, but had some burn issues, especially in the final third. Draw was a bit tight. I thought it had quite a bit of SLR DNA. Medium all the way, some very light fruity sweetness and light cherry but not quite as distinct as they could be. I think 3-5 years might really bring these out a bit more. Definitely not bland, but a little one-dimensional right now and no one flavor standing out. Overall score was a 90, but without the burn issues would have been a 92 or 93. Not sure if this will over be a high 90s cigar but some potential for a solid 95-96 in the medium term.

Thanks for the report. I've been wondering about them. I have a few boxes sleeping.

Yes, thanks for the update. I have a box resting and have tried to forget about them. My birthday is coming up in a few days and might fire one up!

Exact same experience, enjoyed thoroughly but spotty construction.

Smoked my first one last night after letting them rest from my March trip.
I've tried having an open mind as I've read mixed reviews. To my palate the flavours really seemed muted.I didn't have much patience and put it down just after the first third and put to flame my back up cigar which was a Jorge Lopez rolled CCE size. That was good no questioning that!
I rarely If at all pitch cigars-after the custom roll I tried the SLR again but still didn't improve.
Not sure if age will help-will try in a few months

outside of the Saint Luis Rey Regio.....all Saint Luis Rey need time. There are no shortcuts unfortunately. It's a blend thing ;)
