Who has bought recent production Medaille D'Or 4s? How are they smoking and what seem to be some good box codes on them?

Looking at picking some up -

thanks

There's no "good box code" for this cigar since it's exclusively rolled at the Partagas factory.

I have ula 15, and etp 16 boxes. Only smoked from the earlier though. Fantastic. I might remember reading that the 16's are even better. Pick em up. They are brilliant whatever the code is...

I'm a huge fan of the #2 and finding anything LGC these days is like pulling teeth.

Glad to hear they are smoking good young, because I honestly don't know how long I will be able to keep my hands off them ?

I have a box of ULA MAY15.  They've been in my humi since last October and I've only smoked two so far.  I'll smoke another this weekend and report back.

I find my '13 and '14 to be quite similar, a slight drop (if you will even call it a 'drop') in an early ULA 15 box and exceptional is the recent ETP production I am smoking from. But whether this is due to timing of production (harvests) or my particular boxes I really can't say. That said, all of them are very good cigars, you really can't go wrong with either here. And really a cigar to confidentially buy blind, I haven't seen a dud in a looong time here. The recent ones appear even a bit more concentrated in flavours and are currently smoking very nicely fresh. I might be biased as I am a big, big fan of the No. 4, and of the marca in general. In my book, easily among the best of what is currently coming out of Cuba.

So the ULA code comes from the partagas factory?

Cracked a box of ULA ABR15 today, smoking one now. Rich flavors and a fair amount of strength, perfect draw - I like it!

Floral/citrusy/honey sweetness present like the 97's I had?

Love the flavor profile; just too damn skinny. Like smoking a soda straw. A very tasty soda straw, though, I will agree. ETP Ene 16.

I guess I've noticed before, you are critical of current production (not quite sure, perhaps I am confusing members and it has been somone else), and I have to say - no, not yet very floral. And not to be expected yet. But all the right boxes are ticked, and from my experience with the aging characteristics of this ligada, I am confident they will get there. A truly excellently blended cigar.

ULA has been followed by ETP mid 2015 for Partagas production.

Not really. Totally different cigar now but a quite good one...

We'll smoke a couple together next time we have the chance.
