El Presidente Posted September 5, 2016 Posted September 5, 2016 We are flying through the months! Of the past 30 days...the month of August...what was the cigar that you can still remember...the one that puts a smile on your face when you think back to it Shoot from the hip....the one that comes to mind. I had some crackers .....Monte 80th was sublime... but the one that sticks in my head is a particularly brilliant Bolivar Tubos Number 1 whose cream and leather just shone through in spades with a beautiful sensory floral aspect. Couldn't fault it.
zeedubbya Posted September 5, 2016 Posted September 5, 2016 I had a great PLPC on vacation sitting on a bench in Savannah, GA right by the Savannah River after a superb dinner with my wife. However, the Siglo II which Luke C. and I did the side by side comparison for the Cohiba review competition was THE one for August. Not only was it a great cigar but it was memorable for the experience. Had a lot of fun doing the review. The more Petitie Coronas I smoke the more I think they're quite possibly my favorite size. 1
dicko Posted September 5, 2016 Posted September 5, 2016 H upmann connie 1 from 2011. super complex smoke. lots of savoury characters leather and barnyard etc 1
Bohn007 Posted September 5, 2016 Posted September 5, 2016 The Cohiba Millennium Reserve Piramides that I did the review on. It was a beautiful Sunday morning in Chicago and as I wrote the review, I paid greater attention than normal to all the nuances and changes in flavor while sitting on the deck, looking out across the water. A special moment.
ErikB Posted September 5, 2016 Posted September 5, 2016 Cohiba siglo IV that must have been over five years oldVerzonden vanaf mijn iPhone met Tapatalk
Notsocleaver Posted September 5, 2016 Posted September 5, 2016 LGC MdO #4 ULA MAY 15. I shied away from buying a box of these for so long. They just seemed too skinny. I mean, how could a box of cigars that skinny not end up half plugged? These have been gems. Perfect draw every time, lovely complexity. This particular one was paired with a grassy tequila on the rocks and the combo was just heavenly.
Sunsmoke Posted September 5, 2016 Posted September 5, 2016 2011 CoRo from the box I bought on 24 from the PCC vintage program. Brilliant.

PCC releases a bunch of their vintage stock every year I think. Rob had the boxes he received from them up in June/July.
in0gravity Posted September 5, 2016 Posted September 5, 2016 Ramon Allones Phoenicios 35. For me also in the running for best cigar of the year. regards Lars 1
archosaur Posted September 5, 2016 Posted September 5, 2016 A humble Rafael Gonzalez Petit Corona. Cream/Earth/Floral/Cocoa...wonderful. 2
GlennC Posted September 5, 2016 Posted September 5, 2016 One of my few remaining 2007 RyJ Cazadores. The years have been very kind to these and some distinct and novel flavors have evolved. Quite memorable.
Miller1985 Posted September 5, 2016 Posted September 5, 2016 A 2013 RASS. I don't have the box code anymore, but my gosh, what a cigar. I've had plenty of RASS, but this one was amazing. Fruit, cream, and a wee bit of nuts. What made it really nice is that it would've been less than seconds here, so I went in expecting a cigar. What I got was an hour of euphoria.
RijkdeGooier Posted September 5, 2016 Posted September 5, 2016 I suppose this one stood out in at the famous Andy's Pub in Worrstad during the ANS
Philc2001 Posted September 5, 2016 Posted September 5, 2016 A 2001 Punch Monarcas Tubo, which I posted a review about here on FOH. Delicious
Jimmy_jack Posted September 5, 2016 Posted September 5, 2016 A simple but great Monte #4. Like a lot of you say, when they're great they're fantastic.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Akela3rd Posted September 5, 2016 Posted September 5, 2016 A humble Rafael Gonzalez Petit Corona. Cream/Earth/Floral/Cocoa...wonderful.I've got a box of these waiting for the recommended year to expire (as written on the box by an exporter in the 1800s allegedly) which is October. Only a few weeks to go!
Habana Mike Posted September 5, 2016 Posted September 5, 2016 Partagas 109 from the 165 Aniversario Humidor on my birthday - pretty fantastic stick!!! 4
treberty Posted September 5, 2016 Posted September 5, 2016 2006 Monsdale. Fabulous! Probably the best Monsdale I have ever had.
subport Posted September 5, 2016 Posted September 5, 2016 its a tie, it really is. between 13 Upmann mag46 and 15 Ryj cazadores. the truth is mag46 is my all time fav smoke but it is hit and miss. to be honest I smoked one from a feb 14 cab just day before the 13 ones. and the 14 was bland. absolutely nothing in there. completely blank page. zero. that was the reason to smoke another one from a different cab. and bang. the cazadores was just so rich. super simple and strong but rich. floored me with its simplicity and greatness. im just smoking one from the same box. huge smile on my face. same experience.
Duffer Posted September 5, 2016 Posted September 5, 2016 H Upmann Sir Winston, LST APR09 box code. I won my golf club championship on August 20th celebrated with many drinks and then this fine cigar. It very well may have been the circumstances surrounding the experience, but it was easily my very best smoke of the month. 1
backbone Posted September 5, 2016 Posted September 5, 2016 HDM Epi 2 from the robusto sampler, what a cream bomb!
billh1 Posted September 5, 2016 Posted September 5, 2016 Sorry for the crappy pic but this JL No. 1 was far and away the best cigar of August... Cheers! Bill
fabes Posted September 5, 2016 Posted September 5, 2016 It was a '98 le hoyo du maire. Lots of life in this little toothpick cigar.
