It wouldn't let me edit it. I also thought my curse would be blanked out, giving it more effect (like bleeping out). Sadly it would let me edit that either. But someone removed it. I hate tapatalk

you're misinformed.

You're is,and always has been,a contraction.

Take another look on google, perhaps read more than the first entry.

I'll wait............You'll thank me........

Yes you're is a contraction of "you are". In the context of his statement the use of the contraction is not correct and "your grill" is correct in the sense of "relating to or belonging to you".

My statement was in reference to the title of this thread.

There are too many misused words on forums everywhere today.

I have debated on starting a thread to expose the most common, they are to me like a scratch on a great record,or a baby crying in a movie theater.

Here are a few of my faves.......

Peaked..........Piqued...........

fair to midland...............middling

Your,you're..........I see this one both ways

Their,there,they're.............lots of these, one thread had two in the same line, both wrong.

then...............than...........recently a few of these

Palate,pallet,pallate............everyone sees these.

Tom, they may call us grammar Nazis, but they don't realize it's a slippery slope when we start allowing phrases like "peaked my interest".  It's only a small step from there to going back to living in caves and grunting as our only means of communication.

I believe historians centuries from now will mark the beginning of the end of our civilization to the point in time when the Oxford English Dictionary threw in the towel on the phrase "beg the question" and allowed that using it to mean "raise a question or point that has not been dealt with" is acceptable.

Barbarians.

Regardless of the grammar issues, let's get back on to the steaks. I've been putting mine in my electric smoker until I get them to the internal temp that I want. Then I use a propane burner (same one I use to fry turkeys) and put a cast iron pan on there. Crank the heat up on that bad boy, throw some butter in and sear the crap out of the steaks. Rest for 5 min and serve.

Ah, lightbulb moment for me.  I got that stupid side burner on my Weber which I never use.  This could be genius.

Never tried it on that one. But yes that burner could actually serve a purpose now!

Great idea. That side burner is too damn hot to do anything else with.
