New guy here. I've been lurking for a while and just discovered something strange in my humidor. I've bought all of my cigars from one vendor who I will not name except for one 10 box of D4's that I got somewhere else. I happened upon this site and I haven't made a purchase from the 24:24 but I think that's probably all i will do from here out to ensure the quality. Nonetheless, all of my boxes (Boli,RA,JL,Monte,RyJ, Trini, Hoyo) have a blue factory stamp on them. I pulled out one of the D4's that have been in my humidor for a year and it absolutely blew my socks off last night. It was one of the best cigars I have ever had. Honestly, I put them in the very back of my humi because I didn't like them when they first came in. Can't believe how much it's changed since I got it. Anyway, I look at the bottom of the box, the habanos logo feels like it's much deeper than all of my other boxes and it has black factory stamp. Also, this box's serial code was not scratched off like all of my other boxes (I know it's common practice). Basically I came to ask, do I have a humi full of duds or is it common to see a blue stamp? They really don't taste fake and they are okay but just mediocre. Nothing from that vendor has really made me say "Wow".

Thanks!!!

There is at least one fake maker out there that uses blue stamps with a very different sized lettering (considerably smaller text height).  I've seen the font on legit boxes vary a bit, but the overall size of the stamp and the height and width of the letters has always close to the same for many years.  If the overall height of the entire factory code stamp is half (or so) the height of your PSD4 box, it might be suspect.

The depth of the Habanos logo brand on the bottom can vary greatly.  I have seen many legit boxes where you can't feel the ridge there with your finger.  Others seem like they went thru about half the depth of the wood.  Deep enough that it makes me think at least one Cuban factory worker probably worked on a cattle ranch previously.

If you bought from some online vendor that still has Trinidad Robusto Extras or Cohiba Sublimes at a reasonable price, then you bought fakes. But you already knew that!  :o

if you bought anything form anyone, who is not a trusted vendor, you have probably bought some fakes, but...if you bought TREs from 2005-8, you are in fact buying Cohiba Sublimes

A blue ink stamp is not an issue. Post some pics of your box in question. You can also PM me privately your vendor and I may be able to let you know if they are one of the good ones or a bad apple.

Here are some pictures. Weird enough, that supplier does have the Trinidad rubusto extras around 20 a stick. No sublime though. First pic is a box a Boli PC. Second pic is a box of Trinidad Reyes. I think they look legit. Just the whole blue ink thing stuck out.

If these are your concern I don't think I'd be too worried.

Cuba being Cuba, serious?

We aren't really expecting Cuba to use ISO 9001-certified stamp ink, do we?!
