If I had to pick two vitolas they would be standard ring gauge, specifically 42/64ths of an inch, the perfect ring gauge, in my humble opinion. Coronas, coronas extras, dalias and petit coronas...alas

I'd be an happy buyer of cajons of TPC (perlas, minutos, coronitas, etc.). I loved the Petit Punch in cab of 50. The idea of a cajon of 100 Monte 5 or RG perlas makes me salivate…

My two favorite vitolas (Dalia and Long Panatela) are, coincidentally, the least represented vitolas among CC's.

I love my coronas but if I had to have just two I would have to have pyramids in the mix as well. There is just something about the pyramid shape that I have loved since starting cigars. To take it one step further the Cohiba PE would be what I would have a room full if I could afford that many. I may have them even if I can't afford them :)

<1.25 hours = corona/corona extra

>1.25 hours = pyramid Belicoso

I like my robustos too, but these are my go to sizes, time dependent.

Edit, about 6 boxes a year for me.

I don't really think I have to chime in on the ring gauge issue, do I?

What would it take to interest me? Tabacuba would have to prove that they can package 100 cigars, make them in a quality fashion, and then discount them to me due to the fact that I am a quantity buyer.

Frankly, I don't have much faith in the braintrust there at Tabacuba, and I tend to believe that if a good idea can get F'd up, they will F'it up!

I therefore vote 'no confidence' on the idea!

Why would I want to buy 100 cigars of the same size at a time? The answer would be that I largely smoke this size cigar and "consistently" like them (for those of you who like the 'flavor profile' idea, it would have to encompass that aspect as well) AND, the deal would have to be commensurate with the risk and reduced by the lower packaging costs.

I use the term risk, because each cigar, and therefore each box purchase is a risk. I would therefore have to feel comfortable with looking at 100 cigars as a random event and not view it as if all 100 could be faulty or bad. Bad boxes, do appear to exist. I think we have all at least perceived that we have had a box of cigars, were all the cigars, or at least most of them were sup-par. Tabacuba would have to work on this. No one, wants 100 dead cigars!

I don't really care what packaging cigars come in. But if I were looking at a package like 100 cigars, I would prefer them wrapped in cello and therefore save Tabacuba the packaging costs which could get passed along to me. The whole idea here would be to acquire smoking stock at the best price point possible (for me anyway). Otherwise, there is no reason to buy 100 cigars at a time. If, for example, the cost is commensurate with 4x 25x box purchases, why not just buy 4x 25x boxes?

To use a retail example, if a vendor charges for shipping separate and sells his cigars for less (shipping not included), then it makes more sense for me to buy multiple boxes and use unified shipping to my benefit. When the vendor charges the same for each box, shipping included, it might make more sense for me to order one box at a time, check the quality and order more if I like what I see. While I don't necessarily believe in "box trending" if there is anything to it, I will use it to my advantage.

I would think that vendors would like larger parcels of cigars if they sell singles. Buying them with a reduced packaging cost would then allow for a higher profit margin for a single, or the ability to sell some of these singles and bundle them at the retail level with other cigars, and sell them more competitively. Lower sampler prices gets people to buy and try more cigars. Lower cost cigars get people to smoke more and share more with friends and introduce more people to smoking! This is of course the logic used for high tobacco taxes!

I cannot see too many people buying large cabs of expensive cigars. I see this as empirical as it appears to be the trend today (lower box count boxes) in the numbers of cigars that are now offered this way. The lower box count allows for higher profit margins on tobacco! It is why I don't buy cigars this way (especially the untested ones). I am not a collector, I am a smoker. I want to get enough of what I want, a tested product, to keep me smoking now and into the foreseeable future. Times are not always good and it is good to have some cigars put away for those times. I have often gone for years without buying cigars... Many of my friends, the same... I buy in trends. I resist buying in trends as well.

Ultimately, I cannot see Tabacuba doing it! The logic behind the move is one towards a discount for quantity and everything that they do today is diametrically opposed to this concept. These idiots would charge 5x the cost of the 4 boxes and screw up the whole concept and idea... That is my guess anyway...

So Rob, tell your mates, Piggy says stow the debate, not gonna happen! Tabacuba is not in the good cigars for less business!

Just my 2cts.

I've given up on hoping Habanos will introduce (or re-introduce) a 'varied' range of sizes across the board any time soon.

Oh they do, but unfortunately it is in the form of either RE's or LE's frown.gif IE the RA 898's RE for our German friends.

Lonsdale specifically and Churchill.

I love the rg of either. 43-47 is my perfect rg. I like the longer timed cigars as I love the experience of just having a cigar....so therefor the longer length but skinnier ( than most now coming out) is what I want.

I voted PC's first and Robusto second. I'd love to see the reintroduction of the ERdM PC!

When I average out my purchases I probably run at just over a box a month, but I binge purchase!

Too bad that PC's and Coronas were not paired in the options. ok.gif

If I could only pick two I'd have to go with robusto and churchill, just depending on how much time I have to smoke. Anything smaller than a robusto is just too quick of a smoke for me.

Bring back the Boli Corona Extra hungry.gif

I chose Corona Extra/Corona/Dalia and the Panatela/Lancero. Four years ago it would have been a Petit Corona and Minuto.

There's nothing classier than smoking a Lancero, and the Corona/Corona Extra/Dalia cover the other bases nicely ok.gif

All about that Beli and corona but a great robusto or Churchill is always on my list.
