So Habanos rolls out a 54 ring gauge petit robusto, while cutting the robusto and robusto extra. Of course, yes I am talking about Trinidad and the Vigia. I, among others, did not want to like this cigar. Well eventually I decided to grab a box and sure enough they were just about perfect. Perfect construction, and flavor that was top notch. Nutty, creamy, honey, some hay, just a touch of coffee. Honestly, the flavor is right in my wheel house.

So what cigar did you not want to like, that you ended up loving and you're now really enjoying and will end up stocking for the rest of your life?

Looking forward to these responses! 98427976efaaa06db3ac988e8b41f22a.jpgff51f19e639eeae64b9db8f232957129.jpg

Yet to try them, with your recommendation I think I will. Just for a reference, what did you think of the RA extra LE?

I love the Vigia, been thru 2 boxes since discovering. I also like very much the partagas maduro 1 unfortunately they very hard to find. I should jumped on a box when I had a chance.

Pretty much all Cohibas I've tried. Get the individual stick, try it and then fret over the cost of a box. Tell myself they aren't worth the money. Consider pulling the trigger, change mind, have them pop up on 24:24, type out the email, almost hit send, almost hit send. Go back look at them again. Back to email again. Re edit the email a little. Check card balance-ok there, back to 24:24 page and ALL SOLD. Whew saved from my own self. Then beat myself up over decision for two days. I know a lot of us have been there!

There are many kinds of cigars that I may not like, but there is no such thing as a cigar I do not want to like.

RyJ WC. I love the ex4 and the thought of a RyJ that big and passing over the ex4 irritates me for some reason, but it's so good. That sweet maraschino cherry flavor and sweetness and little bit of espresso is really great. I hate myself for liking it that much.

If I hold a grudge against a marca / company, then I will absolutely refuse to buy that cigar, strictly out of spite -- and for exactly this reason! Call it cutting the nose to spite the face, but: A man has to live by a code! lmao.gif

I don't buy boxes of LE. I do buy samplers but that should probably stop because this fat bastard came along. I wanted to hate it...but alas, I love it. I like everything about it except the price. Holy crap I hate that I love this cigar. It is all I can do to refrain from buying a box to smoke and a box to nap.

The bolivar Poderosos, the Belux RE. Absolutely mind-bending cigar, and mind-bendingly expensive.

A close second is the RA Paises Bajos. So damn hard to find. I have a box en route, fingers crossed, the last one I've found that secondary sellers aren't trying to gouge your eyes and wallet out on.

I am going with a non-Cuban due to the subject...

The Liga Privada series is very pricey and I remember thinking this will be an overpriced cigar line. Then I tried one, it was okay (the Flying Feral Pig) but not complex. Then I was gifted a Ratzilla, I didn't want to like it, I love it instead. I also love the L40s as well. For the price you can get really nice Cubans so I really don't want to like it but I have to say I really do. They tend to be far more complex and well blended than many non-Cubans.

Bolivar Libertador. I just thought it was not a "real" Bolivar when I bought them with a buddy... But then I smoked one; right down my alley.

I really like those as well - but it's a completely different cigar. The Maduro #1 is much more refined and sweet.

I used to smoke Vegas Robainas a lot in the very late nineties but after some very bad boxes I began disliking them. So recently I bought a box of Famosos on a whim, thinking it was very gracious of me to give them another chance, almost hoping they would fail me. But no, they were great (fortunately)

The Wide Churchill was always one that I refused to touch - the ring gauge is just horrendous. Then I was gifted one and obviously it would be rude to turn it down. The flavor was fantastic and superior to the Short and Petit Churchill in my opinion. While I haven't bought myself a box yet, I do still feel a bit dirty for enjoying having something that size in my mouth.
