I don't know how many car people are on FOH but I thought I would start a thread for people to share what they enjoy to drive on the way to the cigar shop. I'm always curious to hear which car people like the most and when they owned it. A quick cigar story about the car makes it better.

Mine, my current weekend car is a 2007 Porsche 911S (997). Lots of fun to drive fast around the twisties! I took it the last few years to Cigarfest, a large show in PA that gets about 6k people per year. My favorite story is trying to fit all of the signs and cigars for two people inside! Had to move my seat up to fit it all.

Put me down for a Porsche 911 too. (I have a 996 Carrera coupe). Not as raw a driving experience as my first Porsche, which was a Carrera 3.2; man I regret selling that. My other fave is a Range Rover - a great all-rounder, but likes a drink... Cheers.

I'm keen for a new car. Really like cars but hate the buying process. Current ride is an '03 Nissan Pulsar (Almera) with no heat or a/c!!!

Great fuel economy though!!!

Self explanatory for me...

LOL, I guess so...no smoking while hitting a car?

Favorite car I'd like to drive/own vs. those I've actually had?

Right now I'm driving an Infiniti G37s I got a few years back, just long enough to need some new Y-rated tires. It's a smoker car now as I typically commute only from home to the airport and back - 45 minutes or so on a good day, 60-90 in the usual Atlanta traffic. I'll pull a petite coronas if I am traveling off hours, otherwise a robustos or coronas extra....

Really enjoyed my Mitsu 3000GT I got when they first came out in 1991. Was looking at sedans as we'd recently had a couple rugrats yet my wife asked if I'd seen those and wanted to give one a test drive - love that woman! No cigars really as I traded it in about the time I started smoking seriously. I do remember the ticket I got though where the officer testified he was doing speeds in excess of 130 without gaining sneaky.gif

My 64.5 289 Mustang rag-top with the pony interior has to top the list as a car I'd love to have in the garage again, it was classic. Dad bought it in '69 and gave it to me when I got my license. Drove it through high school and in to the wild years. Finally ended up selling it when I got married - didn't have the funds to restore at the time.

I have a story, but it definitely wasn't my favorite car.

I was in a new Lexus CT200h hybrid years ago when it first came out. Speed was NOT one of its strengths but did get amazing gas mileage. Anyways, I had my eye a well aged Siglo VI in my humidor for quite some time so I finally decided to smoke it on my way to work as the drive would be a solid 2hrs+. I get on the highway, light up my cigar, get about an inch into, and am enjoying the heck out of it. Suddenly, I notice that it needs a quick touch-up. So I grab my torch lighter, twirl the cigar around to make my assessment, and even out the burn. I look down to put the lighter away, look up and the car in front of me is completely stopped..... and I'm not... by a lot. I'm sure you know what happened, but BOOOOM!!! Right into the back of the car. The airbags all went off, the windshield is cracked, the lit embers of the cigar flying everywhere, real smokey from the airbags and cigar, and thinking to myself "****.... there goes my insurance rates" as I had an accident a couple of years prior, also cigar-related.... Anyways, I feel a slight burn and heat on my stomach so Iook down and find that my shirt has a burnt hole in it from a large ember. I look then look in the rear-view mirror to check myself out and the Siglo VI I had saved to smoke is still in my mouth, but fanned out like you see on the cartoons with an exploding cigarspotlight.gif I shake my head, and take the band of the cigar off just to be on the safe side since I knew the police would be coming (live in the states, by the way). I thought about just chucking it out but with the chance of oil and gasoline in/around the car, I thought itd be a better idea to let it burn out while in site. shead.gif

Anyways, that's the first one that came into mine. Loved the cigar, but totaled the car. Hahaha

DUDE, that is a story. I'm glad mine was trying to fit cigar swag in a small car!

Is the 944 a turbo? Don't sell it! Track days are the best!

No, it's. Spec 944, so it's completely tubed with a full cage, but stock NA engine. It's still pretty damn fun on the track, however I just haven't found the time to make many track days the past two years.

I'm probably a future 911 owner. I used to have an 86 944 turbo, which I sold after 10 years. My current car is a 2003 Audi s8, which has been a phenomenal machine......227k miles on the original battery :)

My wife and I did motorcycle track days and before I married her I did track days in a modified corvette with a full tube chassis etc.

Edit: then we had 3 kids :)

My current vehicle is a 2012 Mercedes Benz C Class Coupe 250CDI. Absolutely love driving this car.... except for one minor gripe. As I am a short-arse, I wish the thing had height adjustable seat belts like the sedan!

My previous vehicles; Saab 9-3 Aero, Alfa Romeo 156 Twin Spark, Holden VR Berlina Series II, Daihatsu Applause 1.6Xi (first car in uni).

I'm an Audi guy. I currently drive a 2012 S-line A4, but may buy a S3 next year. My favorite Audi I've owned was my 2001 S4. My favorite American car I've owned was my 1987 Buick Grand National.

I had a Z4 a while back before the 911 and I loved it. Only thing that killed me was the headlight would get water in them :(

Driving it was like driving a flat 6 go kart!
