With Spring and Summer coming for us Northern Hemisphere folks, it's getting near that time where we dig to the bottom of our humidors to see how those lovely Double Coronas have progressed after a long Winter's nap. For our brothers and sisters on the other side of the world, it's time to get a DC or two in before Winter hits.

This got me thinking, which DC are you most looking forward to?

For me, it is the Ramon Allones Gigantes. The one that I had at the end of last summer was 94+ smoke with waves of sweet, stewed fruit, chocolate, and toasted tobacco. Damn near perfect construction and burn to boot. One of my top cigars for 2015 (cigar was from a 2014 box).

I'll post a pic and quick review on this thread once I get a chance to light up a RAG. Feel free to do the same. :cigar:

Cheers,

Dan

Look forward to hearing what people think, as I've not yet gone deep into DCs. I've got a box of PSP 2014 Lusis from our host that I've not yet touched, and have several other DCs awaiting shipment/delivery -- including the RAG and HDM DC.

Got a box of El Morros from 2012 that I am itching to get into.

Had the ugliest looking Lusi from a box I opened last year that was enjoyable (not great like a couple others I've already had). Also looking at having some RYJ Chuchills.

I'm looking at temperatures in the 70s over the next few days, so I've been inspired by the power of Dan's suggestion...

MUL SEP 14. Set out to enjoy after a meal later today. :)

Have some lovely '14 Hoyo but likely far too young for this summer. Might dip into the Espy this year.

Funny you mentioned the RAG. Smoking one when I came across your post. Great smoke.

Lusi! You got some 'splaining to do!

Spring is in the air and I am itching for a Lusitania. Even enough warmth for Punch Punch would do me fine. Have a package waiting at the post office. I wonder who it could be from?

Missed out on those El Morro's last time they were up but am very intrigued. Let me know how they are or better yet, let's partner up on a DC trade

interesting. i find winter the perfect time for a good DC.

long been a fan of the SR DCs and also Lusi's.

actually had a terrific Lusi a few nights ago. from a box of 13s i picked up in cuba last year. what was scary was that i looked long and hard for a decent box and i found plenty going back almost ten years but most of them were average at best and some were downright appalling. this was the only box i found that was worth buying. and it was a cracker. had a couple (yes, too young but...) and they really are fine cigars.

I was thinking of posting a similar question this morning. Whats peoples thoughts on the Punch Double Corona? I had some beautiful Lusitania's from 2013 which were divine. Any thoughts on the Vegas Robaina?

Ahead of you as I smoke DC's all year round! drool.gif

But I agree with Hutch that the Lusi's I have been smoking have been very good! Those and the Punch for more current stuff has been to my liking. I need to grab some more RAG's when I get a chance.

Smoked a VR DA last evening during Happy Hour party.gif but it was an '08. Good smoke!

The next one! Like tonight. Wife is busy so I get to load out in front of the tube and watch a movie she would hate. '10 Lusi as accompaniment.

I have a couple of ~10 year old HdM DCs that I'd love to get into soon.

Another Lusi fan here.

I typically do box splits on DC's since I don't smoke a lot of them. Couple 10-packs here and there last me forever...

Love the DC. Do my best to find the time for them.

Have a '12 box of Punch DC that I will be into again soon.

Also HDM DC are fantastic. Have a '14 box also.

Just need some warmer weather soon!!

Punch Double Corona's have been so wonderfully consistent for me that they're my yardstick for all other DC's. I've got a couple of the 2014 MUL's chillin' for this summer. Last summer was a box of 2012's that were spectacular, as was the box of 2012's the summer before. All from Rob.

I've put away a couple boxes of Lusi's and HdM as well, but have not dipped into those yet. Like Ken says, they're likely too young, but they're still going to get sampled this summer anyway! :cigar:

Wish I had a couple more 2012 boxes of the Punch DC though, just so I could let these 2014's get a few more years on them.

Love the Lusi's and Punch DC's. Smoke them all year round. I find the Lusi's to be a little more consistent box to box
