This is interesting from the outside looking in. Any idea of Australia will change their flag?

Look forward to the day we do !

Changing the flag and making Australia a republic has been on the political agenda for the last 20 years. Sometimes, progress is slow! (Personally, I feel there are bigger issues in Australia to look at then the monarchy/republic debate. I would think Australians would support updating their flag.)

TBH, mate, as much as I'm a Scot who wants to stay in the UK, I can't understand why you guys don't have your own flag. We've got two of them and we're still part of the UK. Time for Australia to have its own flag. All the former colonies should. I respect those who fought under those colours in the war, but I think that even they would understand the need to move forward.

be nice if we did become a republic but i do not agree with the journo about a new momentum. have not seen any sort of push at all. world has other problems. and having fitzsimmons as head of the movement is the best thing the monarchists could have dreampt of.

the problem is that the majority want a republic but cannot agree on the form it should take. bob carr's version with minimal change was perfect.

as for a change of flag, little interest.
