El Presidente Posted February 4, 2016 Posted February 4, 2016 Just trying to get a handle on when the the Des Dieux was last produced. For those that have bout them in 2015/16, let us know your box codes I really miss this cigar. We haven't seen any for coming on 8 months and there continues to be none on the PCC buy lists.

JohnS Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 The latest Box Codes on Des Dieuxs? How about the latest Box Codes on Cohiba Siglo III's and Montecristo Montecristo Tubos? These are the only other Coronas Grandes (i.e. 42 ring gauge by 155 mm) in current production. Plenty of others discontinued in the last 15 years though. http://www.cubancigarwebsite.com/list.aspx?&ringlow=42&ringhigh=42&lengthmmlow=155&lengthmmhigh=155&includeimages=True&sortorder=noorder
foursite12 Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 Rob, I note Czars still offer singles. I assume those are from 13/14? A great cigar that is at the top of my "Buy" list.
JohnS Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 So since the majority of posters have indicated that the last Des Dieux Box Codes seem to be from 2014, how far-fetched is it to speculate that the tobacco set apart for this vitola were re-directed into making HdM Le Hoyo San Juans instead? This is the time that they started appearing. One could make the same speculation in regards to Siglo III's and Siglo VI's. We've seen a supply of Vi's in 2015, I haven't seen III's around. Of course, I'm not affirming this is what has happened and I'd rather believe it not to be so!

Duxnutz Posted February 6, 2016 Posted February 6, 2016 I have BUM FEB 14 from last year. Hope they haven't been quietly discontinued alongside the SLR DC. My favourite 2 cigars. Wait? Whaaaaaaaaat?
JohnS Posted February 6, 2016 Posted February 6, 2016 John, do you find similarities in the flavor profiles of the des Dieux and the Le Hoyo San Juans? Definitely, yes. However, keep in mind that that the des Dieux I've had has been as the result of our dear friend, Fuzz's generosity from his 2003 RSE Feb 03 50 cab and the San Juan sticks I've had have been singles. As I've mentioned before, I believe the Le Hoyo line are more sweeter, creamier and less woody than standard HdM when aged. the des Dieux was certainly a beautiful mild and smooth sweet, creamy cigar whereas the San Juans, being young, had cedar, black tea more prominent and was mild-medium. I have San Juans resting, but I intend to sample them after 5 years, when I think they'll really start to settle into their 'peak period'. I do hope more des Dieux is produced by Habanos S.A in the meantime, like many of us here. Wait? Whaaaaaaaaat? Whilst there's no confirmation of the discontinuation of 50 Cab San Luis Rey Double Coronas, the fact remains that only Regios and Serie A's have been available in the recent past. I'd like to know the latest Box Codes on SLR Double Coronas too from members.
