Was reading through a few reviews and ran across a member that bought two boxes in a 2-fer 12/12. Boxes were PC/Minutos. Good reviews on the cigars. El Prez - do you still do this 2-fer thing? Interesting, as my favorite size is around 40-42 rg. Love to pick-up two different cigars at the same time!

Nothing is stopping you from picking up two boxes at the same time on any 24:24 that Rob puts up. What are you asking? A better price on the boxes?

Posted

Sometimes Rob gives a small discount on his already good prices, on 2-at-the-same-time buys.

Mainly Minutos or Perlas.

I am assuming it comes outof the saving on the shipment cost, but have no idea whether or not this is true.

Did not say that at all. If you read the post, you would see that I am looking for two different cigars and NOT asking for a better price. I find prices are superb enough as they are. Not often that two smaller vitolas come up together in the same 24/24. Besides, if it was done at one time, maybe again. Just posting a question. And, if two boxes were to come up that I am looking for, then I would definitely buy the two boxes. Don't be too hasty to jump to conclusions. Sheesh!

Yup. Prez does, and I think that's what the OP was referring to.

Regards.

I think people are trying to figure out what exactly you're asking so they can help. Your original message was ambiguous enough to warrant questions. Questions are not conclusions. You asked about 2-fers, which are by definition discount deals, hence the question that seems to bother you. Rob often does offer two-fer discounts to pass along the shipping cost savings where he is comfortable putting two boxes in the same parcel, so it would be natural for a member to ask if getting the cost down was what you were asking about, regardless of whether for the same cigars or different ones.

He means instead of a common 24:24 of 1 box RA Superiores 110 or 2 for 200, replace with two different marcas.

To answer your question OP yes Pres will sometime do a buy 2 boxes of any offering an get the discounted/apportioned price. Just have to wait until one pops up.

Really depends on the box type. The discounts are based on shipping savings. if I can pass them on I will.

Some boxes are near impossible to do due to weight. Once you get over a certaib weight, risk and costs increase to a level that discounts are not possible.

He means... two different marcas.

This is correct - two different marcas in PC or Minuto size. Ex. BJC and Party Short or Reyes / El Principe, etc. Great way for enthusiasts of smaller marcas to try two different cigars from Rob's quality stock. No discount needed, as they would already be on 24/24 and would be worth a freight charge for two boxes if needed. Only brought this up as I saw this in an older review post and found it interesting. Had never heard of a 12:12 or the 2-fer thing. I assume that the the '2-fer' description was not a 2 for 1 price discount, but rather a reference to two boxes sold together for whatever price. Also... a GREAT way to do splits!!!

I remember getting in on a deal where I got a box of RASCC and a box of HUHC for a nice discount. I think there were a couple others available in the same deal that day. Sometime last spring if I remember correctly. I don't recall seeing it more than a couple times since 24:24 started.

Yes, i remember that sale as well. The one I am referring to is one that Di posted while Rob was away. It had the option of RASCC, HUHC, BCJ, and one other I cannot remember. I think it was the best pricing I have seen since for any of the boxes and they are smoking so good I wish I had mixed and matched about 8 more boxes.

Would ask you the same thing, Sport! I do take offense when people are rude. You very well know the tone of your response was insulting. Seems that you DID read the OP incorrectly, but look to be continuing because you were appropriately called out. Let's both be gentlemen and call this quits. I was looking for a positive thread to add information in a constructive way. What do you say?

Why make it simple when you can make it complicated? smartass.giflol3.gif

Well THAT adds a lot to the conversation! smartass.giflol3.gif
