cigarbigboy Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 So how many of you are really into both vices, wine and cigars? How many of you have cellars? I love a good stick with a wine, and spend as much time trying to pair the two as I would pair wine with food. I'm probably a bit more overboard on wine than cigars.... and I've enjoyed how Ken frequently brings the two together. So how about it? Good Shiraz with a stogie? I had Mollydooker Velvet Glove with a Connie A the other day.... very enjoyable. 2
Starlet119 Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 Im not crazy into wine but ive enjoyed porto's with just about any mild cigars. Great setup you have there.
madandana Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 Nice wine room. I like wine but my wife is a lot more passionite about it. We to have a walk in wine cellar. Half is cigars half is wine. Not as impressive as yours though.
cigarbigboy Posted December 7, 2015 Author Posted December 7, 2015 wine makes cigars more enjoyable for the women you share your life with, too.
rbelcastro Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 I alternate between beer and a glass of Cabernet Sauvigon with a cigar. But, do you have any other recommendations to pair with the fuller cigars?
LGC Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 I don't care for wine and cigars (unless ports, moscato, late harvest, ice wine, etc). I mostly drink wine with food... otherwise, whites when I just want something to wet the palate, and reds when I'm out and not being picky. The tannic and earthy qualities of my preferred red wines compete with cigars... and dries out the palate. When I smoke, I don't want competition. I also feel that many have the misconception that higher alcohol content automatically equates with a dominating flavor profile. Flavor is not the same as strength/body... as with cigars. 1
Fuzz Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 A nice Pedro Ximenez sherry goes well with cigars. 2
irratebass Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 Very impressive cigarbigboy! I don't know much about wine, and that is another vice/hobby I don't need heh...now with that being said I do like to pair cigars with grape juice & apple juice, so who knows, maybe you are on to something here
smokeyjoe01 Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 Wine and a cigar is my idea of relaxation. I can't seem to buy the wine quicker than I drink it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 1

But, do you have any other recommendations to pair with the fuller cigars? Like with wine pairing, you want a strong flavor with a strong flavor, not allowing the more subtle taste to be dominated. Tempernillo, some Grenaches or Rhone wines, even a peppery shiraz like E and E Black Pepper go well with stronger cigars, in my mind. 1
Martin3203 Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 I've smoked and paired with wine, wasn't bad. Now it's cigars and rum for me. Sent from my SM-G928V using Tapatalk 2
CoCigarSmoker Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 Your room is my dream!! Wonderfully done. Cheers, Seth
jsd Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 I love pairing a cigar with cab or other red. Not a fan of port or desert wine. Nice set up you have there.
Napa_Smokes Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 I enjoy pairing a cigar with a nice wine. Sometimes I find it a little difficult but I do enjoy pairing it with a nice red, sparkling or botrytis wine.
Jeremy Festa Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 Sweet cellar! Love wine. Love cigars. Love them together. Even dabbled more often with nice white wines with cigars. Sent from my iPhone
