TomF Posted October 31, 2015 Posted October 31, 2015 ....I will break into one of my boxes of Siglo VI's... I'm a lifelong Yankee fan, but I'm lovin' these Mets.
JamesNYC Posted October 31, 2015 Posted October 31, 2015 I am a Mets fan. I had a great Sancho Panza Belicoso while watching the game on my Ipad via TiVo in my front garden. Cold but I didn't mind, given the outcome. Probably will have a Bolivar CG or a Lusi when they win the World Series.
JohnS Posted October 31, 2015 Posted October 31, 2015 I enjoyed Curtis Granderson's 2-run home run in Game 3. It was a key moment. It was great how Syndergaard hung in with his pitching too. We gained momentum and 'broke out' soon after. I could use clichés and say we must win Game 4, that Stephen Matz has the opportunity to pitch a big game, but I'd rather focus on these key moments, that's what gets teams through in big games. If Matz can keep things tight, we have the hitting to come through at the back end of games. I was talking to Paul (a cherished American BOTL) at Havanathon yesterday about historic Game Sixes throughout the postseason (1975 Carlton Fisk, 1986 Mookie Wilson and 2011 David Freese). I'd just love to see it again this year in Kansas City (obviously for the Mets). In the meantime, I'm hoping the guys can seize these 'key moments' in Game 4 and Game 5. Watch this space.
CigarAsh Posted October 31, 2015 Posted October 31, 2015 As a life long Kansas City Royals fan, i think you guys are just dreaming. Other than starting pitching for the Mets (which has been just average so far In the Series) the Royals just match up better at almost every position. Better defense, better offense (admittedly with little home run power, especially with no DH). I still think we win at home in game 6 with Cueto throwing another dominant game before he goes and gets his free agency riches. I'm not a big fan of this trade deadline, "rent a star" for 90 days deal, but if the Royals win it all, I guess it was worth it. But, we sure traded away a lot of young pitching talent to bet it all on this season. Go Royals! 3
brutusthebuckeye Posted November 1, 2015 Posted November 1, 2015 It's KC's year..sorry mets fan.. Being an Indians fan I am rooting for the Royals...
JohnS Posted November 1, 2015 Posted November 1, 2015 It's a matter of seizing opportunities. Well done to KC for latching onto theirs in the 8th innings yesterday. It's not like the Mets have not had their opportunities.
knickerbocker Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 If Mets win game 6, they will win game 7. Royals have to win it game 5 or 6. Royals dont want to be in a game 7 where their best hope is ventura/young vs syndergaard
CigarAsh Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 Let's go Royals!!!!! Now I can finally change out of my lucky Royals shirt. 1
Habana Mike Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 Looks like you'll be aging those smokes a little longer 1
JohnS Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 Well you can't really blame the starting pitching (excepting game 2). The Mets led game 4 and game 5 late and the Royals cameback. They did it the whole post-season. Although as a Mets fan I am disappointed not to have enjoyed a game 6, I can at least acknowledge that the best team won in 2015.
JohnS Posted November 3, 2015 Posted November 3, 2015 The Mets won the National League Pennant and a girl at work gifted me a memento below from her travels to NYC a few years ago! All was not lost from a memorable 2015 season!
