El Presidente Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 Have a look at the box of D4's. There is a problem which is not immediately recognisable. Who can pick it?
luv2fly Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 Is it the wrapper on the second cigar from the left? Looks like it is cracked or it was patched with a piece of leftovers. 1
PapaDisco Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 Double caps instead of triple? Might just be my pic . . .
ebhead Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 IS it that it's the bottom row and has 13 cigars crammed in there? e
ebhead Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 never mind, I think the first post makes sense. e
foursite12 Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 Box itself shows impact in front opposite second cigar from left. As noted earlier, that same cigar looks dinged up as well, possibly including a tear in the wrapper about halfway up.
prettybigkat Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 Cigar beetle on 6th cigar from the left? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 3
SCgarman Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 First cigar is crammed in between top and bottom rows. No spacer in bottom row?
El Presidente Posted October 27, 2015 Author Posted October 27, 2015 Cigar beetle on 6th cigar from the left? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Bingo! You see it from time to time. Roughly 1-2 boxes every few thousand boxes. the solitary hole in a sigle cigar. Damage has been done in the period between the factory and the Habanos freezing chamber. 1
srbbones Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 Water damage and mold at foot of 2nd cigar from the left

Damage has been done in the period between the factory and the Habanos freezing chamber. Considering how warm the weather is down there, it is amazing there are not more beetle holes. Many that have gone to Cuba have said lots of boxes in the LCdH's are rife with beetles. Guess you need to inspect a box before handing over the cash.

JohnS Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 Cigar beetle on 6th cigar from the left? Indeed, well spotted! And thanks Rob for putting this up, it serves as a great education for us all. We may presume that a beetle problem means many breakout holes, but in this case it's just one! (Yet, it still means the whole box is affected.)
smokeyjoe01 Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 So what happens to the box? If the second row were checked as well would the amount of affected boxes double? I've had cigars with holes like that before & smoked them Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Merovius Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 A week haha, you dont take any chances Rob. Eradicate those bastards!
Sigaar Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 Makes me wonder if I'm crazy not freezing... 1
khamy Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 i thought the splash of brown paint on the bottom left hand corner indicated the reason for the darker oily consistent maduro sheen.
foursite12 Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 Rob, WTF is with the damaged front edge of the box? Is the 2d cigar intact?
SCgarman Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 Makes me wonder if I'm crazy not freezing... If you want to protect your expensive investment.....you should !!!! I freeze all my incoming boxes regardless of what they do in Havana.
