Just wanted to document an anomaly I noticed today in the difference of ink colors on the interior rice paper (gold & green). Both boxes came from reputable sources. Looked on the cubancigar website and this was not documented. Note the green one is a wrinkled. Had used it as a coaster but have another just like it.

Hard to say they are both different PMS Metallics by the looks, either that or they have some pretty dodgy printers.

But knowing Cuba anything is possible ,the only way to tell if you have some fakes is to smoke them you should be able to tell the difference between the two,my guess is there not fakes if sourced from a reputable dealer ,just the anomalies of Cuban standards and or Quality control

Yup. Not concerned the smokes are fakes. Just wanted to note it somewhere out there for those who see the same thing. I suspect they came across some ink used in the previous design and decided to use it up.

You don't have to worry unless the third paragraph is in Swahili...........

I'm a bit confused...the only inconsistency I see is that there was never a gold-tinted ink slip with the "Habanos" stripe acoss the upper corner according to CCW. Other than that, the green and gold may have coexisted.

Am I missing something?

I've noticed the same thing over the past year. At first I used to worry about it, but I've gotten both colors even from boxes from Rob so I just chalk it up to Cuba being Cuba.

I put these things in a stack on top of my humidor. I just flipped through and have 3 each of the new style, both in green and in gold. I prefer the gold, but that's just me cigar.gif
