No reason to bring it back without a second band. Smaller margin for identical product.

The "unique" vitolas are really not new in general. They have mostly all been around in the various marcas.

I voted a failure because I am not a 'party' executive at Tabacuba! Did I rate the cigars? Nope, I may have smoked a total of 25 over the past years. I voted failure because of what the program focus

I would have to rate the program as a success. It generated (and still does) a litle bit of excitement and anticipation. The down side to the program (in my opinion) is three fold. 1. the gene poo

While not a full-fledged RE hunter I have truly enjoyed the diverse vitolas and blends that have been put forth through the program. I appreciate that there have been the occasional more traditional

There seems to be a common misconception here. If it were for LEs I'd agree, Shlomo. But - I guess Smallclub had addressed that previously - the Regionals are usually very reasonably priced in their respective home markets. As for the said 8-9-8, e.g. B&M prices:

RA 898 ER EUR 13.50

Party 898 EUR 13.40

nothing to complain about....

But perhaps other markets (Canada?) handle it differently?

So I'd rather think that there would be even less direct revenue/margin for the REs due to mostly higher lead costs of smaller production batches, often linked with special vitolas, boxes, iron branding, ribbon and band designs etc.

On a side note, also the 'double-banded' LCDH-releases are - at least in Europe - very fairly priced, often being even cheaper than comparable sizes of regular lines.

I voted success....thumbsup.gif

Successes for me. La Flor de Cano Short Robusto. Green ink. Good cigar.

PL Magnifico. That band.

LGC Glorioso. That band. Again.

PL Legendario, RA Grandes. Great cigars.

La Escepcion Selectos Finos. Good cigar, great box, better jars.

Pl Encanto and Valioso. PL in a dalia and piramide. Great.

What I'd like to see.

Punch Nectares No. 2. In a proper box. Some thought to the blend.

The only RE I have, which I haven't tried yet, is the Sancho Panza Quijote.

So far no mention of this cigar which I guess tells me a lot. A random guy in the shop in Spain told me I'd be a fool to not buy them.

Thoughts on this release?

Yes - it's a better sleeping aid than Nyquil. They are THAT boring.

Fav : ERDM Infantes, RACF, Flor de Cano Gran Cano, Punch Super Robustos, RA Unicos

Dissapointment for me was the Bolivar Britanicas.

All in all the program has is up and its low points. THere are some very good cigars that have come from this. Brands like Diplomaticos, ERDM, RA, LGC are being featured in this program and have an empty regular production catalogue.

I wish they would use this as a testing ground for different vitolas for different marcas, and use that data to maybe add a vitola or two in the catalogues of the less used brands that I mentioned.
