garbandz Posted October 8, 2015 Posted October 8, 2015 I am curious to learn: Who has tried these..... Who would buy these at the current price.... Who is waiting for the price to come down to buy them.... Who would not buy them if the price did come down...... Three and a half inches does not give much to enjoy, and the price on these seems out of proportion.... The trend lately seems to be "In a hurry? Here's a short cigar you can knock out quickly, and it only costs 25% extra for the convenience"
Lant63 Posted October 8, 2015 Posted October 8, 2015 Who has tried these..... Me Who would buy these at the current price.... not Me Who is waiting for the price to come down to buy them.... Me Who would not buy them if the price did come down...... Me Three and a half inches does not give much to enjoy, and the price on these seems out of proportion.... It is I think it is a good cigar with promise and true to its partagas flavors. much more similar to the d4 instead of a short. Once I can get them for approx 100 usd I will buy. I only got them as winnings from a bracket challenge. 1
egoo33 Posted October 8, 2015 Posted October 8, 2015 Three and a half inches does not give much to enjoy twss sorry had to do it 3
GavLew79 Posted October 8, 2015 Posted October 8, 2015 I had a freebie 5-pack. I wouldn't buy a 25-count but as a quick smoke they're ok. Partagas D4/D5 profile to an extent, but a lot spicier. I love fresh D4 but these seem a little harsher than those.
jackattack Posted October 8, 2015 Posted October 8, 2015 I bought two of the (20's) boxes. I've smoked thru half of them so far. Nice looking little fatty. Construction and burn has been very good. The flavors/strength are on the med.full to full side of the spectrum. Not for a beginner IMHO. Black pepper, cedar, wood....I get 30+ minutes but I tend not to boat race a cigar of this strength. Buying a Havana Saver tool is helpful with these shorty's. I got them at $7.50/stk price point. They seemed to have matriculated upward since. I'm going to let the remainder sleep for awhile and see if the edge on that Blk pepper softens. I like them....a good 30 minute Cuban flavor fix. On the fence as far as value......a little pricey above that price point. 1

gangstarrrrr Posted October 8, 2015 Posted October 8, 2015 Buy the D4 and snip it and voila you have a D6 but cheaper!

I also tend to smoke them slowly, about 45 minutes.
El Presidente Posted October 8, 2015 Posted October 8, 2015 Picked some cracker boxes yesterday from a good LAS mastercase. Will price them next week and have them up on 24;24 1
jp1979 Posted October 8, 2015 Posted October 8, 2015 I would buy if the price came down, otherwise I will just buy D4's when on sale and pitch them at 30 minutes if I have to go. 2

egoo33 Posted October 8, 2015 Posted October 8, 2015 Damn you beat me to it! Great minds are often found in the gutter 3
busdriver Posted October 8, 2015 Posted October 8, 2015 I have only smoke a couple but I enjoyed them. They are a good smoke that starts with full force as something that size should. However at the current price point I would buy robustos or H. Upmann Half Corona if I am sticking to that size.
Lotusguy Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 Bought a fiver, liked them very much. Wouldn't buy more unless the price comes down to a reasonable level (i.e. 20% or more below D4).
Bartolomeo Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 I like them for what they are, short and tasty but price is out of whack IMHO from what I have seen from worldwide vendors but definitely worth smoking a couple to try out if you havent already
Habana Mike Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 Agree with most here. Good performance, price out of line.
Franko Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 I love them.. Had to get me a box right after I smoke my first one Plus I'm in a short time to smoke, so perfect for me I got a great deal from our host So no complains here about those little guys:)
MattW Posted October 10, 2015 Posted October 10, 2015 Interesting.... A friend of mine was in the LCDH in Gibraltar today so I asked him to pick me up a 5 pack off the back of this thread, sounds like they're worth a try.
drunkbuckeye Posted October 10, 2015 Posted October 10, 2015 Agree with most here. Good performance, price out of line. That's too bad. I wish they had an auction site for CC like they do NC. I would love to try a box out at a lower price point.
oliverdst Posted October 10, 2015 Posted October 10, 2015 I'd like to try it but I confess I don't have hopes seeing it for less than 100/box unless Rob runs a clearance/seconds/2 boxes deal. Let's not forget it's a 20 count box.

oliverdst Posted October 10, 2015 Posted October 10, 2015 Good luck seeing them at $150, I think the cheapest I've seen is a tick under $160. Yes, 8/stick. Insano. In Cuba more than 5/stick. 1
gangstarrrrr Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 $141 on today's 24:24. The monte media corona is another one to add to the overpriced new releases bucket. Very toppy when compared to the HUHC.
