Anth87 Posted October 8, 2015 Posted October 8, 2015 Everytime I get a box, the ugly ones are always the first to go I'm sure I'm not the only one! Having a Monte #4 from a seconds box on recent 24:24 There was an ugly one with a crack or two midway up the wrapper, so figured I'd put it out of its misery Dayuuuum! This thing is tasty! Loads of chocolate and beans Probably the best one from the box so far! Anybody had a recent memory of an ugly stick surprising you? 1
JohnS Posted October 8, 2015 Posted October 8, 2015 Yes, I had a Seconds pack in June this year with a Cohiba Piramides Extra in it. The only thing wrong with it was a crack in the head. Well, I v-cut the head and proceeded to smoke one of the best cigars I've had this year! Just look at that ash! 3

That vitola has been on my to smoke list for a while

MrGTO Posted October 8, 2015 Posted October 8, 2015 Wow that looks amazing, no flakes whatsoever! That vitola has been on my to smoke list for a while You won't be disappointed. That has been the best cigar of 2015 so far for me. I smoked one the night before my youngest daughter was born and burnt my fingers smoking it to a nub!
garbandz Posted October 8, 2015 Posted October 8, 2015 I do this, burn the ugly ones first. It"s just to keep the stash looking good......
archosaur Posted October 8, 2015 Posted October 8, 2015 My best all time cigar was the ugliest PLPC from a fiver I got from Czar, years ago. It was beat up, rough looking wrapper, band smeared, etc. Ended up being the richest cigar - waves of palate coating dough, leather & touches of sweetness throughout. Blew my mind. It must have had some age on it, the rest of the five all smoked more like a young PLPC.
saintsmokealot Posted October 8, 2015 Posted October 8, 2015 I used to be real picky and always pick the ugliest first. I think this started due to NC's where 1 roller more than likely rolled the entire or majority of the box. With CC's and the possibility of every cigar in the box could have a different roller I pickem like lottery numbers (quick pick). Too many times I have saved the most beautiful sticks for last and they don't make part with the ugly and/or crooked ones. 1
mgravito Posted October 8, 2015 Posted October 8, 2015 I experience the same thing with ribbon smushed cigar in a cabinet. Sig IV and Mag46 immediately come to mind.

I usually burn the beat up ones first but saintsmokesalot has got me thinking this is the way to go!
