I took the below photo on Friday after I wwent through some Trini Reyes. They were pretty poor.

Those on the left were the fails....and bad fails they were. Those on the right (11 boxes) were the PE and HQ.

Talk about "lottery odds". Pisses me off no end rolleyes.gif

That is a poor ratio to be sure. Pics of the sticks?

Picture yellow (almost pure) wrappers and some really consistent poor construction (hard as nails).

That's a let down I do enjoy a good Reyes. Been hoping they cross the 24:24 as well as more BPC and BRC.

I guess my question is ... do you as a vendor get a credit on those? I would think so...

Um...How did the Punch in the background fare? Should I burn my credit card now or just give it to my wife?

If they can't get any type of consistency with wrappers and bunching, it's easy to understand why every cigar you pull out of a box is a coin toss. I know many think that a dark, smooth, and shiny wrapper indicates a good cigar; but it means nothing if the cigar is underfilled or is blended poorly. I conceded to the fact, years ago, that every box is a total crap shoot... regardless of visual aesthetics and box codes. This is when you have to acknowledge that aging will have little to no effect on some cigars.

Looks like there will be a lot of upset customers buying from retailers that do not open the box and inspect.

This is unacceptable that they send such poor product.

You guys must realize that this problem with the Reyes started very shortly after its release in 2004.

In 2005 you could already see Reyes (and Coloniales) with ugly wrappers, underfilled or overfilled, devoid of any aroma - specially those in the cardboard petacas...

The fact that the "bad ones" are now the majority is just a typical cuban episode IMHO…

That's one thing I never understand about some CC's. Many vitola's are great all the way. You see the efforts from the seed up through the making of the box, person putting the bands on, selecting even color grades across the box. Then there are those lines you think blind meth addicts are working on that don't give 2 shits with a quality inspector passed out drunk in the corner not inspecting. You would think know they are rolling just absolute crap and have the pride in their product....like HSA markets they do.
