What's up for the weekend!

Recommended Posts

Flat out this weekend with basketball for my youngest tomorrow morning. I understand so little of the game ....and apparently I am scoring on the electronic scoreboard. Should be a riot....literally lmao.gif

late am Tom and I are completing a project decking out a 3.5 meter inflatable as a stealth fishing craft. Looking great so far. Rod holders, Nav lights, under seat storage, outboard, .....a touch nervous about where to put my cigar holder lookaround.gif

Mid afternoon test driving cars with Di. Should be a hoot. Of course the car is her and she will get what she wants whistle.gif

Evening we are checking into the Stanford Plaza with dinner booked at a snazzy restaurant that has some solid reviews. We could use a night away as it has been hectic. No doubt a few too many wines a cigar or two and a trip into the casino will come into play. Will be a late one.

Sunday and off to see my Lisa/Frank and my godson Dom for brunch. I love the little fella and they grow up fast. Back Sunday afternoon to do some work and prep next week. I am in the warehouse next week so a little more prepping than usual.

What are you up to?

Have a cracker weekend!

Rob

Sounds like a busy but fun weekend Rob!

I'm heading north to Edmonton to help a BOTL with a project, then we are meeting with a group to drink, smoke, & carry on I am sure. Sunday will likely recover possibly with mojitos & cigars on the deck, or in the shop if weather permits. Nothing fancy, but I look forward to it as it's been a very busy summer so far.

Absolutely nothing, I am so looking forward to it !,

Wendy has left me again, gone to China.....

School rugby season over so I don't have to get up at 6 on Saturday morning?

Going to piss down with rain so the garden can wait for another week as can all the outside diy jobs?

I am going to spend the weekend in my pyjamas and I'll pop out for a cigar every now and then?.

The perfect weekend ?

Cheers

PS Wendy gets back next Sunday, just after the Perth HERF at the Garden on Saturday.

Love it when a plan comes together

45th High School reunion Saturday night. We'll see who will stay out after 10:00 let alone close the bar with me. I'll be out on the patio doing the DC challenge.

Golfing is out of the question, another round of thunderstorms coming in. Probably get some stuff done around the house, Reload some 9mm, and then relax/do nothing.

I was going to setup and season my new humidor but nooooo..... FedEx can't get it here today.. I'll probably mope around the house, check the tracking info every hour and worry about having it ready before more sticks arrive next week.

Too good. I hate getting tracking information because I check it every 6 minutes until the package arrives. When something takes a month to get here......thats a lot of expended bandwidth.

I have been working traveling non-stop for the past month with no days off. I have the NEXT TEN DAYS OFF!!!!

Tomorrow the wife and I are meeting her sister and husband at an outdoor German Bier Garden where many liters of beer will be had with a cigar or two. Then it's a Über back to their house for steaks on the grill and hopefully a nightcap cigar as well.

Sunday is up in the air, it may just be a recovery kinda day.

Then I have another 8 days to contemplate life and start small cuban fires!

This evening out with friends whose son is playing at a local tavern. Very talented young man.

Tomorrow a BBQ festival my Uncle is judging.

Sunday, repairing the irrigation system, doing some planting, catching up on work in advance of next week.

Cigars sure to be included in or around all activities.....

On Saturday Fed Ex is supposed to be delivering the Fender Telecaster that I bought. I've wanted one for over thirty years.

How exciting! I would get a reliable luthier (one that you know that their workmanship is trustworthy) set it up. Doing so makes a world of difference as these guitars are machine-made, minor adjustments to the bridge, neck, frets and/or nut can really help with the intonation. I remember getting a Stratocaster a few years ago and struggling with tuning it 100%. After taking it to the luthier, the neck was adjusted and some frets shaved and then it was like magic. The difference was like night and day! yes.gif

As for my weekend...I caught up with my bandmate Joel and we worked on songs. I drove to Alexandria to get some birthday cakes for my kids (2 years apart, but born August 23rd and 25th) who are now 17 and 15 and caught up with Led Zeppelin Remasters disc 1 and 2 in the car to cope with the annoying (and horrendous, at times) Sydney traffic. It's just family these days for a bbq, when the kids were younger these parties were 'bigger than Ben Hur' sometimes.

I'm planning to catch up with my brothers-in-law and celebrating today by enjoying some Montecristo No.2 aged from 2008. smile.png

Anything with a car after 9am in alexandria is a no go. Everyone comes in to get a coffee and breakfast and the roads turn to car parks.
