While I've had the chance to smoke just one or two of some of the more highly esteemed cigars in the LE line (Cohiba - Sublimes, Montecristo - Sublimes, Cohiba 1966, H. Upmann - Magnum 50, etc.), I'm mentioning the ones I found myself buying multiple boxes of as I think that's a good indicator of what I've considered the best.

Top 3 for me are:

Bolívar - Super Coronas - these have been great right out of the gate.

Montecristo 520 - when you get a good one they're amazing.

Trinidad - Ingenios - really enjoyed these upon appearance. Went through a dull period but the few I have remaining have regained or surpassed their former glory.

Others I quite enjoyed and purchased multiples include:

Romeo y Julieta - Dukes - went through many boxes of these though they seem to have lost their lustre of late.

Montecristo - Grand Edmundo - almost a toss-up with the 520

Punch - Serie D'Oro No. 2 - another good one upon release

Hoyo de Monterrey - Epicure Especial - pretty tasty smoke

Honorable mention goes to the Hoyo de Monterrey - Particulares - shame 3/5 from my box were plugged pretty tight, still waiting to see if they'll ever open up.

I wonder what's your favorite marca...! wink.png

Thing is that the Grand Edmundo and the 520 have barely tasted like the run-of-the-mill Montecristos. The Sublime with its strength starting out is a maybe, but the LE 2010 and 2012 haven't lived up to true marca.

This isn't saying they're bad cigars. The 2010 Grand Edmundo was a really nice, oily, chocolate bomb for me!

I hope so - I recently purchased a box in Andorra!

i purchased a box of the 520s in Andorra recently as well and was really happy with them---wish I had picked up more at their price. Oh well, maybe next time....

No real brand loyalty in my top 3

1 - 2005 Mag 50.....loved this cigar but sadly was too late to the cigar game to pick up more than a few single stick. I love the Mag 50 but these had all the same great aspects of the 50 but they were turned all the way up to 11!

2- 2009 R&J Duke.....cracker of a cigar and I love these. Have 2 boxes put away for significant future events like wedding children etc

3 - 2008 Monte Sublimes....amazing cigar but after the success of the Cohiba Sublime they disappeared quick so I got 1 box and have 2 left which I'm holding (and a 2008 EL travel retail sampler which had 2 in it).

Having had many boxes of the early LE's, I feel extremely fortunate. The best of the best is a toss up between:

H. Upmann Magnum 50 LE

Hoyo Epicure Especial 2004

Both of these are still amazing from start to finish.

The next is:

Partagas Piramides 2000

Great cigar, took forever to calm down and balance out, but what a winner it is now...

Honorable mention in no particular order:

Montecristo Robustos 2000

Cohiba Sublimes

RyJ Ex #2 2000

Monte Sublimes 2008 (almost 3rd place... really good)

Partagas Serie D No 3 2001

Hoyo Piramides 2003

I'm very surprised to see so many RA Extras on the list. They have been pretty disappointing IMO and last I remember most people seemed to agree.

Not a huge fan of EL's but some of the memorable ones I've smoked were 04 RyJ hermoso #2 and Monte 520. I will try another 1966 soon but the couple I've had were pretty underwhelming.
