Ryan Posted June 11, 2015 Posted June 11, 2015 This is sad. He had a good innings as they say though. He's been scaring the crap out of me too for as long as I can remember. Great voice. 2
cigcars Posted June 11, 2015 Posted June 11, 2015 Just texted a few interested persons about this when I read it in my webnews. He disturbed so many "Mama Square-Britches" wearing sexually repressed fuddy-duddies with his sensual, yet dangerous and powerful Dracula when it debuted in 1957. They were the ones who did the most complaining about it. C'moooonnn, ladies! People are sophisticated enough to be aware of your hoots and howls of outrage really trying to hide, "Oh yeaaahhh, do it to me, Baby! DO IT TO ME!!!" (Should I leave this in here??) But anyway, I've loved Mr. Lee and Mr. Cushing's movies and performances ever since I was a teen and newly exposed to them. WONDERFUL actors and gentlemen. Christopher Lee did demonstrate his singing talents on a whim during one of his show hosting invitations with a rendition of Don Quixiote. I read the condolences Roger Moore sent to Lee's surviving kin, and had stated that he and Christopher had been friends since 1948. He will be missed with great sadness, and great reverence. Rest-In-Peace, Sir. You deserve a well deserved Heavenly hiatus. 2
Mr.T Posted June 11, 2015 Posted June 11, 2015 Loved his roles and movies through the years...RIP Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
JohnS Posted June 11, 2015 Posted June 11, 2015 He wasn't afraid to be typecast as the villain. A great actor, well into old age, I think many will rememeber him for playing Saruman in the Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit trilogies.
MIKA27 Posted June 11, 2015 Posted June 11, 2015 R.I.P Francisco Scaramanga, a brilliant Bond Villain 1

MIKA27 Posted June 12, 2015 Posted June 12, 2015 6 FASCINATING FACTS YOU NEVER KNEW ABOUT SIR CHRISTOPHER LEE Today Sir Christopher Lee died aged 93, a true legend of the silver screen he passed away in hospital after suffering from heart failure. Whilst the world, fans and Hollywood mourns his loss, we thought we'd look back on a few fascinating facts that you might not know about one of the most famous actors in horror, sci-fi and fantasy. FACT 1: He actually recorded a pretty impressive heavy metal concept album about Charlemagne. Give it a listen below. FACT 2: He hunted Nazis during WW2 and was part of a secret agent unit called 'The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare'. From 1939-1946 he served in the Finnish Army, the British Home Guard and the Royal Air Force - his highest rank was Flight Lieutenant FACT 3: When told by Lord of The Rings director Peter Jackson to "imagine how a man being stabbed in the back sounds" he chillingly told him he didn't have to imagine it. FACT 4: He was fluent in Italian, French, English, German and Spanish. He also admitted to being 'moderately proficient' in Swedish, Russian and Greek before being 'conversational' in Mandarin Chinese. FACT 5: In his younger years he actually met Lord of The Ring author J.R.R. Tolkien in a pub, the only cast member of Lord Of The Rings to do so. FACT 6: Tenor Jussi Bjorling - one of the best opera singers in the world at the time, wanted a young Christopher Lee to join the Opera on account of his remarkable voice. Lee however, opted to pursue his love of film instead. Here's some footage of him singing. On top of all of that, he played and defined the roles of Dracula, a Bond villain, Lucifer, Death, Count Dooku, Lord Summerisle, Sherlock (and Mycroft Holmes) and more recently the wizard Saruman. In a career spanning over 60 years he was often described as the ultimate movie villain. If you need a reminder of just how imposing and good he was on film, here's our Top 10 Christopher Lee films I recommend you watch as a tribute to the man himself. Dracula (1958) The Curse of Frankenstein (1957) The Wicker Man (1973) The Hound of the Baskervilles (1959) The Devil Rides Out (1968) The Man with the Golden Gun (1974) Gremlin 2: The New Batch (1990) Jinnah (1998) The Lord of the Rings Trilogy Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith As the man himself once said: TO BE A LEGEND, YOU'VE EITHER GOT TO BE DEAD OR EXCESSIVELY OLD! For those of us that witnessed his performances on screen, he was always a legend in life. The world has truly lost a little bit of magic today. RIP Sir Christopher Lee 1922 - 2015 2
