1988 Davidoff Chateau Lafite-Rothchild time to smoke?

Recommended Posts

I won a lottery about 10 years ago at a herf in Boston that was organized by some of the old timers from the old Club Stoogie forum. I have 2 Cuban 1988 Davidoff Chateau Lafite-Rothchild, 2 1989 El Rey Del Mundo Pantelas Largas, and 2 1949 Personality Perfectos (which I know nothing about). I've been looking at them for years, what do the brothers think, should I spark them up or save them as a keepsake?

If you want to make someones day, when you smoke the Personality, send me the band...........

Collecting since the 60s,I would make a spot in my collection for it.

Unless you are going to put them in a frame on the wall until they turn to dust just smoke them. As for the day, there is none like th present. You never know what is around the corner.

Could always vacuum pack and frame them lol

I don't know if I could have kept my hands off of them since 2005. ...but then again I have some bottles in my bar that refuse to open.

Either way, they sure look like a treasure.

Too many variables to weigh in, ie storage, other than to say that you should do what you feel like doing. However...

According to Min Ron MEE the Davidoff and ELdM are just hitting there prime at 20 to 25 years

Only you are the master of your own palate. How do you know that this MRM character doesn't have other motives, ie selling his entire collection as it reaches its purported prime which he has surmised back in 2001 with his time machine, nevertheless the fact that he may or may not. The moral of the story is to form your own conclusions.

In my opinion, those cigars should have been smoked yesterday.

You make a good point (ie form your own conclusions) but why go so far as to defame the guy (whoever MRM is, never heard of him nyah.gif ) ?

It is good that you clarified. Threads on other boards have descended into nasty pro/anti MRN arguments on less....

I love having pairs of great or unique cigars.

Honestly, I'd invite a good friend over and share the experience.

Was thinking the same thing......

BLAAAAZE THEEEEMyes.gifcigar.gif Then do a series of reviews on each one so we less fortunate can live vicariously through the experience. Better yet, invite that good friend(MEEEE?sneaky.gif ) and do a Rob and Ken style video review(s)!spotlight.gifparty.gif
