Rushman Posted March 30, 2015 Posted March 30, 2015 Has anyone tried these things? While in the states week before last, the wife and I picked up the mid-range nutribullet. She is back in Mexico for a bit so while she is gone I decided to start making smoothies as a breakfast and lunch replacecment. Been mixing up kale, apple and grapes with frozen fruits like blueberries, blackberries, strawberries, mangos and peaches. Started throwing in Chia seeds last few days. Been doing this for almost one week now. Not focusing on it as a diet per se - just trying to decrease the intake of crap food and this seems to make it easier. I definitely feel like I have more energy, and except for smelling hot food during the mid-day and the related "oh man that smells good", I haven't missed eating during the day. This thing makes quick work of whatever you put in it - its pretty cool. 1
DropTopDee Posted March 30, 2015 Posted March 30, 2015 i have one and haven't used it lately but im going to start back soon. love it!
JoeyGunz Posted March 30, 2015 Posted March 30, 2015 Use mine every morning, a load of greens and some berries odd bit of fruit and I find I have better sleep at night and more energy in the day, clearer skin e.t.c
Ubergosupro69 Posted March 30, 2015 Posted March 30, 2015 I frequently use mine. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, it can make a meal or supplement a meal with some extra vegetables and fruits
KB24 Posted March 30, 2015 Posted March 30, 2015 Use as many veggies as you can and only add the fruit for flavor purposes. 3/4 or more should be veggies and then add some blueberries/strawberries/raspberries etc just to alter the flavor and make more enjoyable. I enjoy kale, carrots, celery, blueberries and strawberries with non fat yogurt, almond milk, raw oats and ground flax seed as a breakfast shake. The oats coat the stomach and make you feel full until lunch time.
CaptainQuintero Posted March 30, 2015 Posted March 30, 2015 Good things but remember to go for veg over fruits of you can, otherwise you're getting a massive sugar spike and can run into diabetes issues long term depending on how much you're having or replacing meals with. I think ideally they are perfect as a way to get more veg and nutrients into a diet in addition to meals, not replace meals. Just my 2c though 1
sengjc Posted March 30, 2015 Posted March 30, 2015 No complaints with mine - works well to increase the daily intake of fruit and veg. Used to produce supplementary fruit and veg smoothies to go with the regular meals. I don't like kale in my blend though, preferring tomatoes, cucumbers and celery. TheFullMontecristo Posted March 30, 2015 Posted March 30, 2015 use mine all the time for breakfast and pre or post workout. 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt, 1/2 cup strawberries, fist full of raw spinach, splash of muscle milk protein drink, a little water and blend. I add a tablespoon of natural peanut butter sometimes also. You can lift a truck after one of those. A great pre-workout drink.

CaptainQuintero Posted March 30, 2015 Posted March 30, 2015 On the other hand you can use them to make healthy deserts instead of say chocolate cake do a fancy fruity creamy icey yoghurt thing
Orion21 Posted March 30, 2015 Posted March 30, 2015 FYI, my dentist told me that this new found love for smoothies and juicing is horrible for your teeth. Make sure to brush Also, I have been told to add fatty oils to any smoothie or juicing otherwise many of the great benefits of the health foods will be lost. Hemp oil is a favorite of many, since it will aid adsorption of the vitamins and minerals.
CaptainQuintero Posted March 30, 2015 Posted March 30, 2015 Yep^^ Look at a decent or hood quality fruit juice in the stores and most will have the same if not more sugar % than Coke
Guest rob Posted March 30, 2015 Posted March 30, 2015 I currently use a stick blender for making breakfast smoothies - of oats, bananas, walnuts and dash of cinnamon. Thinking of getting one of these bullets.
MrGTO Posted March 30, 2015 Posted March 30, 2015 Don't forget it can whip up a nice rum punch as well!
CigarDarr111 Posted March 30, 2015 Posted March 30, 2015 My magic bullet crapped out the other day after years of blending my morning power shake. Think this is my next purchase.
